Thanks Everyone on this Issue. Went from XP to Vista And my 1215 HPphotosmart did want anything to do with this Big move. But after reading your input . It work when I used HPphotosmart 2570 series. Works pretty good. I had tried lazer jet and other HP's printes with no luck. Wait a Little Longer for Better PC prices
by Guest NewsBot- 0 replies

According to research firm Gartner, PC prices have come down through the years and during the first half of this year the average price of desktops and notebooks is at $ 761 USD. We are now seeing the lowest priced PCs in the history of the tech industry. In 2008 the average PC prices were $ 941 USD, back in year 2003, the prices were as high as $ 1,364 USD. The prices kept on going down because American households now have an average of 2.5 PCs and the computer technology saturation is driving these costs down.Given the market saturation, [...]Post from: Windows Vista Weblog More...

by Guest dizzl3e- 0 replies

We have a File and print server running w2k3 w/SP2 and last week our users started experiencing connection issues to the server. Our users were not able to retrieve any files, unable to print, all the mapped drives from each individual workstation connected to the server was disconnected. I had to reboot the server to get the services up and running quickly. I then checked the event viewer and a slew of errors appeared under system category, all being event ID 2000. The exact error message is: "The server's call to a system service failed unexpectedly. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp." …

Passport Manager Errors
by Guest Eric Paul- 0 replies

I hope this is the right group... I am running Windows Server 2003 (64bit enterprise edition). I have thousands of PassportManager errors (event ID 5006) in my event log: The description for Event ID ( 5006 ) in Source ( PassportManager ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: 633910877302161092. We do not use PassportManager, so it looks like all of these are erroneous attempts to log into the server.…

by Guest jonrayworth- 0 replies

Hi, I've got an intermittent printing problem on my Windows 2003 server. Users running Windows XP Pro send prints to the print queue, but if the printer is out of paper, the prints sometimes just disappear. No errors appear in the event log. Has anyone ever experienced this, and if so, have you found a solution?
