Hi guys, I am running a WIN2008R2 Rootserver for my friends, mostly for Gameservers, Voiceservers etc. and I have a little problem. One of the Games I am hosting, I don't think that many are Gamers here so I might as well not mention the name of the Game, doesn't matter really, I run several Servers of. Since the Server Hardware isn't used really by the Gameservers, my problems sure don't originate in Resources. Usually one of the Servers hangs up, could be because of a wrong or broken map (Game Map) or something, but when it does, it causes all the other Servers of the same Game to also have high CPU use and of course at that point there is no getting into them any…

Windows IT Pro As I have said (and written) repeatedly, the future of computing is both highly mobile and highly connected. This is pretty obvious, and I make no claims to the title of industry seer. This week, however, I've come to the conclusion that my prediction is already half realized: Computing today is already highly mobile. Hey Everyone, I have a 2008 R2 Server that is experiencing random lockups. There is no BSOD, no memory dump, and no Event log entries to work from. Symptoms: When it has crashed, I cannot access any file shares, services, RDC, DNS or even the login screen directly on the server, BUT I can ping successfully. The only thing that resurrects the server is a hard reboot. Sometimes the server will go for weeks without any issues, then it will start locking up 3 - 4 times per day. I cannot correlate this to any changes in the environment or usage. The system is running the following services: File Share, Folder Redirection for (desktop, mydocs) on 7 PCs (5 xp, 2 w…
