Hi, Windows Server 2008 noob. I have a basically stock Windows Server 2008 Standard standalone installation (with no domain controller), then added TFS 2010. Now, I'm running the TFS Build Service for continuous integration, which requires builds to use a UNC path-based drop folder, not a drive-letter-plus-folder path. I created a folder C:\Builds and then shared it as Builds, granting "Full Control" permissions to the account the build service runs as at both the share & NTFS permission levels. When logged in to that machine as the build server account (or any other administrator account, for that matter), start Windows Explorer and try to navigate to \\myse…

Server 2008 Scheduled Tasks cant run a batch file this seems a known issue, my troubleshooting doesnt work, but I find myself confused about assigning the "Full Control" permission explicitly to .bat file for the account running the task. I am logged in as administrator, when I look at permissions for the directory and the batch file I see I have full control checked. But I also note that I can change settings for User, but not for Administrator what is this telling me ? I also see two shades of gray check marks, and I cant make sense of this either. Is this the issue preventing TS from running the file ? ( I can run it manually fine) Is there a 3rd party TS…

Currently my organization has 8 satellite offices which use a terminal server (2008) located in our main office. I am attempting to make it so that a user that logs in from location B will only see printing devices located at location B, not from any other location. Curently, any user logged into our TS can see all printers and it is getting very cluttered. How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance. BSDAdmin
