Windows IT Pro A Microsoft executive last week confirmed that the software giant will use its popular Xbox brand for media services across devices types in more specifically in Windows 8. I had previously and exclusively reported that Microsoft was retiring its lackluster Zune brand over time and that the products and services that currently fall under Zune would be rebranded as part of this change, most likely to Xbox. This now appears to be the case. ... Source: Win Super Site

Paul Thurrott's Supersite for Windows The new Windows 8 user experience has triggered excitement in the Windows user community, but also some fear and loathing for competitors and their supporters, and for developers. Paul Thurrott's Supersite for Windows Apple this week announced its iCloud service, a cloud computing solution for consumers that won't start shipping to customers until late in 2011. But couldn't we as Windows users essentially duplicate most of this functionality today using existing tools and services? How would this compare to what Apple is promising for iCloud? ...
