I'm trying to install MS Office 2010 from legit DVD's. Upon installation, I get the error message "cannot find access.en-us/Access.en-us/branding.xml" I've searched all the folders on all of the DVD's supplied, with no success.. We migrated from Office 2003 to Office 2010. As most of you probably know, "Use insert key to control overtype" is disabled by default in Word 2010. Our users aren't too happy about that. I realize its not terribly difficult to fix, but would save our helpdesk a lot to set this through GPO. However, I was rather surprised to find its not an option. Of all the controls that can be set through GPO I would have thought this one would certainly be there. Searched the net, and come up empty. When printing multiple copies, my HP Officejet 6500A slows to a crawl. Printer preferences are set to spool documents and to start printing immediately. TaskMaster shows MsMpEng.exe sucking down 90+% of the cpu and spool getting 5% or less of the cpu. This always happens whenever I print. The only way that I can reduce the amount of cpu that MS Security Essentials suck up is by unchecking Monitor file and program activity on your computer under Real-time Protection. Changing the selection from Monitor all files to Monitor only outgoing files has no affect. Obviously, taking this action puts my computer at risk. What can I do to improve print speed?? Hello, We're using MS Project Professional 2010, and we have a website that links to the .mpp files. When I click on a link to an .mpp file, I get prompted with a file download dialog, where I click "Open" and MS Project opens, but then gives me this error: When I click OK, the mpp file is opened in the browser window. It doesn't make any difference if I set a target on the link. The message is not correct: - File name and path are correct. - File format is MS Project 2010 format, nothing wrong with that. - It's not an early version file. I am wondering why the OS install date found in the registry of a Windows XP Sp3 system will be the same date as a entry in the Security Event Log. The situation is that there is one entry in the security event logs that state the security event log has been cleared by user SYSTEM an there are not any other entries in there. At the same time the OS Install date/time is the same as that entry in the security event log. What set of events could cause this. Could an OS installation clear the event log? I am fairly well versed in DOS-based command language. Locating the proper syntax in creating a simple AUTORUN.INF file however has left me a bit challenged. The issue is that all I want it to do is open Windows Explorer to a specified folder when I plug my USB drive in that it would be located on. I tried an "OPEN=OPENFLDR.BAT" where OPENFLDR.BAT included "EXPLORER.EXE E:\MYFOLDER\" command. I tried AUTORUN.INF with both regular and system file attributes. Neither of course worked. LSASS.EXE is performing 3 reads and 3 writes per second. According to various threads on the internet this issue has be happening for some years but with no solution. I have seen it currently on my home PC and a friends laptop but not my work laptop. All 3 are standard windows XP SP3 + updates. AV is different on all 3. I think it's about time an answer was found to this problem. Any ideas? Every time I try to run Smileycons I get the error message "Smileycons has stopped working", followed by Windows is checking for a solution to the problem but never finds one. I am running Vista Home Premium, with no unusual programs. Just Avast anti-virus, Ad-Aware, Windows Defender. I have contacted the Support people from Smileycons, they maintain it is a Security Suite or similar blocking the program. Having tried everything I can think of, even cleaning out the registry manually after uninstalling the program and downloading and installing a new one. I've read the responses that's been provided and tried them with no success. I have a Vista box and would like to run and Access 2007 database, but this database needs to write to c:\. This system is on a domain and it's unknow if a domain policy is keeping this from working. Disabled the UAC and also ran the command "icacls c:\ /(username):(OI)(CI)(M) rebooted and tested to see if files can be written to C:\. No success yet. Any suggestion is appreciated.
