When trying to open anything (Internet Explorer, Word, etc.) I get an error box labeled bco.exe. It states. "This application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application." Somehow, I do not have Microsoft Security Essentials and it won't allow me to download it. I can get on things as Administrator but I need to get my security working again. Any thoughts? Continue reading...

Hi, I've had to reinstall Windows XP, and I do have the SP3 installed. I cannot seem to download files and install them. The file seems to download, but then the system will not open and install it. For instance, if I download firefox 8.0.1, then run the file, the "file corupt" box comes up, and it won't run. Or, with the patch for older MS Office programs to read the new MS office files (for Excel 2003 to be able to read Excel 2007 .xlxs file), I download the file, run it and get "only a part of the ReadProcess Memory or WriteProcess Memory request was complete." What is wrong with my system and how do I fix it? Please help. Continue reading...

I am running Vista and have recently started to have a problem with my mousepointer - every couple of seconds, the hourglass appears as it was ferociously busy. No virus scan, deletion of temporary files etc has helped. I do not seem to have any problems as a result of the hourglass but am concerned with what is happening with the operating system. We have Mototola ES400's that need to connect with our PC's. I'm not interested in any of the Outlook Sync features - just purely the file transfer abilities and also remote execution via RAPISTART. This works perfect on Windows XP via ActiveSync 4.5, however Windows 7 and Windows Mobile Device Center just does not work. The device shows up as RNDIS Device on Device Management. It even goes so far as showing 'Windows Mobile Device' in My Computer. But WMDC just won't recognise it. If i go attempt to open it via My Computer i just get a blank folder. Any Ideas? Is there a fix for this problem? Is it possible to run Active Sync on Windows 7 without emulating XP? …

But if my computer (Toshiba netbook nb505) had Win7 Starter, then it's not a clean iinstall. I have a Win7 pro DVD from my employer (MS at home license, or whatever it is). I did through 'upgrade anytime' though, since i don't have an extern DVD drive. I didn't even know I'd have to activate, found out while on the road. Husband provided me with key, but failed - error oxc004f061. I have 7 days left. What happens then? any help beforehand? I contest that this is a clean install. it is an upgrade. Continue reading...

Hello! I 'just' installed Windows 7 Ultimate that I got from my university. I typed in the product key, which shouldnt be in use.. For about 20 days it said "Activating Windows.. Please wait" .. "Activation failed- please type a different product key". I got other keys from my school but they didnt work either. After 20 days it suddenly said "Windows 7 Ult successfully activated" which is very odd, how could the key activate itself after so so many days? I know that I will have to reinstall Windows 7 aswell in a month cause I will get myself a SSD-unit after new year, so I really want this key to still work. Can I use the same key again, same computer but on a different…

Hi, We have a trouble in our company with workplaces with Windows 7 Pro x64 + Office 2010 Pro x64. The problem in short is following: It is not possible to paste formatted content (Outlook ocasionally crashes, mostly just does nothing), pasting as plain text is working though. What I have already tried: Clean install of the system, with all the latest updates (Windows and Office) - Didn't work Disabled all the AddIns in Outlook - Didn't work Running Outlook in Safe Mode - Working at the beginning. But after viewing a plain-text email, paste doesn't work anymore!!!!! So if I want to paste anything other than plain text, I need to restart Outlook in safe mode and avo…
