I developed a web page containing some javascript and its local on my computer. In IE9 I have Active scripting Enabled, so that I can run web pages containing javascript. When I open this web page it doesn't run the javascript and there is a warning message at the bottom of IE9 saying, "Internet Explorer restricts this webpage from running scripts and active X controls" How can I get rid of this warning and have IE9 just run the Web page javascript? Note: I posted this same question "IE9 Warning Blocks Javascript" on http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie9-windows_7/ie9-warning-blocks-javascript/e5149294-4eb4-4550-b37e-34c945131e33 Answers were provided for…

Today we introduce an updated look and layout for the IEBlog. Here’s an overview of the design and layout changes we made: New font family – We’re using the Segoe UI font to align with Windows 8 Metro style. New color scheme – We have a new color scheme inspired by the Windows 8 Metro style Start screen. Improved performance – The blog’s home page defaults to excerpt view. This substantially reduces load time since excerpts do not contain images or videos. Fewer borders – We’ve removed the borders around the right rail items resulting in a cleaner look. Updated right rail content – We’ve removed the tag cloud and limited the monthly archive list to 24 months. The li…

I have a Lenovo machine with OEM goodness that I want to keep. However, I want to switch over to running everything boot from VHD (no native / bare metal OS installed on the machine at all). I can mostly get this to work, except that the OEM install is W7 Pro, not Ultimate. Thus I get the license error. Assuming that I've got a legal copy of Ultimate lying around (or an upgrade key), how do I upgrade my VHD to Ultimate so that it'll boot? When I try to boot that VHD, I get the license error before getting into the OS. So I can't use the anytime upgrade functionality. I don't see anywhere in the setup process where I could appy an upgrade (even from a sysprepped version …

Hi, a friend recently gave me a CD with 55 MP3's on it. Before I ran anything I scanned it and am a bit perplexed by the results - hope someone can help? The scan stated that no threats were found, but that it scanned 971 items. While the scan was being done I could see that most MP3s appeared to be behaving like a container (I might not have explained that very well - it looked like it was scanning the contents of a file and finding files within it, rather like a zip file, 1 file with many files within it) and it identified these file as something along the lines of (3 numbers), eg . I used online scanners and all of them came back as negative, but I still ha…

I proactively downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. However, to my dismay, my computer was infectes with the Trojan:Win32/Alurecom.Fl virus. A six hour full scan was conducted on my computer just the evening before. Neither a full or quick scan removed this dreadful virus that wiped out my Microsoft Office Professional software, It also wiped out my operating system, my ram and my hard drive. It has also completely removed all of my approximately 50 websites in my internet favorites folder. This is very frustrating and time-consumming and It keeps populating my screen with a continuous loop of rolls of 18 boxes that have to be cancelled indivually. The other ch…
