I am using Microsoft security essentials and everytime I switch on my PC the there is a red cross showing on the bottome right. When I click on it, it says Spyware etc isn't switched on. I have another program that I use for spyware so out of interest I attempt to turn on Defender I get a pages of System 32 data. I am running windows 7 HOME premium. There have been a couple other "answered" threads on this problem, but the answers offered so far are just workarounds that don't help me. I have a large number of Dell E5410 laptops running Windows 7 64-bit. They are simple workgroup clients. No domain is involved. Windows firewall is disabled on them, but they are running Trend Micro antivirus. I don't get this problem with all of them, but it happens with many of them, and once the problem starts happening on any given laptop, it persists. I have a customer where I just set up Fax Services on his Windows 2008 SBS server. I set up on his local account by going into Windows Fax and Scan on his Windows 7 Business machine. Tools>Fax Accounts clicked Add...>'Connect to a fax server on my network' then typed in the SBS server name and so on. The Windows Fax and Scan works, however when selecting New Fax and then clicking on the 'To:' I expected to get the address book from Outlook and did not. Good evening, I cannot ge windows to boot up after an undate that was installed last night. I have an ASUS CG series desktop with windows 7 home premium. I am having a problem with my Internet Explorer 9 Something is wrong with the browsing history. A few days ago, it suddenly stopped recording the sites I have visited and it only records the documents I have opened up through Computer I do not have InPrivate Browsing on, I did not check the option for Delete Browsing History on Exit, I did not click the Delete button to delete my browsing history, and I did not change any settings. I picked up this virus on 12/20/11 before I installed this anti-virus software. Security Essentials has quarantined the virus but I do not know how to remove it.
