I recently purchases Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 and I am trying to install it on the Vista OS. During the installation it appears to make it most of the way through the installation, however when it gets near the end of the installation it seems to get stuck. It does not give me an error code and the setup program still shows to be running in task manager. How long is it supposed to take the program to install. I have left it sitting for over an hour and it just says it is installing. But the progress bar is not moving and it does not give me an error. I don't know what to do. Please help. Recently, having peformed perfectly for several months, I have experienced a problem with IE9. While I have no problem navigating to any web page, once there, I get no reaction from IE9 if I click on a link on the page. A new blank field opens at the top of the screen but apart from that, nothing happens and the link does not open. A folder turned up under My Documents with the name of "e4504-1221029-e4cfod4d5adc22". It contains two folders both labelled "Microsoft Maliciuos Software Removal Tool" and anothe file with an .exe extension. Is this a Bona-Fide message from Microsoft of another potential danger to my computer? I ask this because I have never requested this from Microsoft and I am never sure whether or not all those downloads that purport to be upgrades are genuine or not. I have been using Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper Beta for some time (http://connect.microsoft.com/systemsweeper). I see now that there is Windows Defender Offline Beta (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline). Neither product page mentions the other, and both pages still exist, so I must assume the products are different. The download & configuration instructions are just about the same for both too. I'm trying to change the "stuff" installed from Office 2010 Pro Plus using the DVD which is Labeled "Backup Disc" and it is not working. I'm running Win7 64bit OS and have installed Office as a 32bit. I've tried using the Change feature from the Control Panel - this will not work. So attempted using Backup disc - this does not work. In both situations the I'm prompted for the Installation DVD, I put it in and direct it to the folder containing the required file and get "Invalid location" then the software does a rollback. I performed a clean installation of Windows 7 Upgrade on a brand new PC without installing any other OS. I didn't realize that it was an "upgrade" version. Now, I need a valid Windows 7 product key. Can I purchased an OEM version of Windows 7 at a website like Newegg.com to activate my Windows 7? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986 I just checked and my copy of Windows XP was an upgrade version too! My copy of Vista is an OEM from my old HP laptop. If nothing else works, would it work to install OEM Vista on my new computer and upgrade or is that OEM Vista tied to the original HP laptop? I've been having a lot of problems with this Script Errors and had been trying using different buttons on my keyboard to slow the script thing from popping up. And using the bar on the bottom of the keyboard, with the Enter key or holding the F5 key seemed to keep it at bay or temporarily make it disappear, then if I'm working on a page especially in Facebook games area or my yahoo e-mails it will jump to a different page or game entirely! i have a domain with a network printer with a static ip address one of the computers (running WinXP) is not able to send print jobs now, it worked fine till today All the rest of the computers are still able to print to this printer I tried to reinstall the printer - didn't work I tried to reinstall the driver - didn't work so i checked to see if the networking is ok and i found out that i'm getting no response when i PING the printer IP address I tried PING to other computer on the LAN and i did got response, even when i PING to external internet websites I disabled the firewall and anti-virus and the problem still presents any suggestions? Hi Big problems with my laptop - now given up trying to recover HDD (which had XP Pro installed) and I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7. My question is will an 'upgrade' version of Win 7 work as a fresh install and at some point ask for my XP Product Key or can I only upgrade if I have a working (as opposed to a non-working) version of XP, albeit with a Product key ?
