Okay everyone, so our company has recently decided to move to windows 7 (took a while yes) and we are trying to image 24 Lenovo laptops for win7. This took place because we could not get them to image with xp, and we tried for a couple weeks. Yesterday, I built one of the laptops with win7, installed all the software we needed, and then syspreped it. I got it capturing, and decided to leave and let it go overnight and work on it in the morning (today). It woont let me activate over the internet, because the proper drivers are not installed. Here's the Catch-22: I cant install the drivers until I activate windows. So my only option at this point is to activate windows by phone, but windows activation wont generate an installation ID. Any thoughts? After contacting HP Technical Support and speaking to a supervisor we were able to solve the problem of Windows continuously rebooting after installing SP3. Here are the steps that fixed the problem with my HP Pavilion running on an AMD processor. The steps are actually fairly straight forward and easy.... Hi I was able to use WDS successfuly in past and now I encountered a strange behaviour. When I add the Boot.wim image, it is successfuly added but once the Wizard is completed and Refresh the WDS, it become disappear ... also when I try to boot a client PC its not available. okay i have it on desktop and 3 lappys in my home (all W7 machines), and i run it with malware bytes (latesy 1.60 version). while we practice safe computing i can't help but notice the absolutely poor ratings it has gotten across the board from the german testers and just about every single reputable testing site. why oh why doesn't MS do something with this nice program to get it up to a level that doesn't just pass but really competes with others on the market...free or paid? that is if in fact they are serious about security. chevysales Continue reading...

am not sure what made this problem start happening, but I think it was trying to change the ICON picture for one desktop shortcut... The problem is that now all of my desktop shortcuts (except the system desktop shortcuts) now have their icon 'pictures' messed up. New shortcuts that I send to the desktop are also messed up. I have attached examples of the doubled-up picture in the icon. It seems that the little "shortcut arrow" symbol has lost its mapping to the correct image. If you look at the attached screen print you will see that the icons are bad as displayed on the desktop, however when viewed in the Windows File Explorer the desktop folder icons are OK. …

I could capture and deploy OS partition through WDS. But I am unable to do it for other data partitions. Through Imagex I am able to capture data partition , but unable to deploy that Wim file through WDS server. I tried to append both wim files with imagex but not working with WDS. Hi, I am facing very weird problem while working on intranet site. I am working on a intranet site which include jQuery functions and CSS. I was testing it on google chome browser where it worked fine. Then i started testing it on IE, where the IE was getting hanged when i call a php page which include jQuery and CSS. After some time i came to know that the intranet compatability view is turned on by default and when i disabled it for intranet. The site started working fine on IE8/IE9.
