Hi, I have over 120 clients running Windows 7 Enterprise in a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain. I am currently doing some testing around AppLocker, and generally locking down the user environment. I will soon be setting up some new Windows 7 clients with the users added as the Standard User type. When a standard user attempts to install an application, the UAC prompt is displayed, which requests administrative credentials. Is there a way that I can approve/publish specific applications that the standard users can install themselves? If so, is there a way that the users can install updates for these approved applications themselves? Any help would be much appreciated. …

I have lost all persoanl file and folder content after what appears to be a malware problem it has also removed or has hidden certain desktop shortcuts. I turned the laptop off as it it would not close any other way. The laptop started in the recovery mode and the content was then missing. I had my drive wiped & Windows 7 (Ultimate) installed. I had moved all my documents and pictures etc on to my external hard drive. I ran a MSE scan on my external hard drive. The folder with my pictures & documents came up clean. A separate folder with an old One Care Backup indicated the presecence of mailcious software within the One Care Backup. How do I delete the old One Care Backup from my external hard drive, as when I try to delete I am told I do not have access to it? kb2619340 was recently installed on my Win XP SP3 OS and now my media center is getting application exceptions when I try to record or watch TV shows. The application error shows ehshell.exe as the application. I have used media center to record TV shows for many years so this is a crisis for me. Hi, My company is using Novell 6.5 for network printer. We install IPP for printers. But when the laptop is not connected to the domain (outside office network), the laptop respond is extremely slow. Either open word, excel, Outlook, or Windows Explorer, it will take more then 10-15mins to respond. I check the "Printer and Fax", those IPP printers show "Opening" for the status, ff I end the spooler service, they can be open in a normal speed. Is there any fix for this?
