Making WinPE a disc

Hello all, I am attempting to make my first WinPE disc so I can tinker with DISM, but my ISO seems to be broken. I followed the instructions that came with the WAIK iso, but they aren't exactly getting me anywhere. If anyone has a good guide on how to create a basic WinPE disc with ImageX, I would greatly appreciate it! Here are the instructions I have: Step 3: Creating Bootable Windows PE Media In this step, you create a bootable Windows PE RAM disk on a CD-ROM disc by using the Copype.cmd script. Windows PE RAM enables you to start a computer for the purposes of deployment and recovery. Windows PE RAM boots directly into memory, enabling you to remove the …

Trouble with loading 64 bit MSE definitions update
by Guest ejerrywest- 0 replies
I have a 64 bit Windows 7 OS so I installed the 64 bit version of MSE. When I try to run the manual definitions update by clicking mpam-fex64.exe I get a "not a valid win32 application" error, I verified that it is not trying to run in compatability mode already. Do not know what to do. EDIT: I downloaded the 32 bit definitions update and tried running that instead and I got the same error, it seems that I am missing something very basic... I cannot do the automatic update because I am connected to the internet through a proxy and I can't find anywhere to input proxy settings on MSE. Continue reading...

WPA2-Enterprise Windows 7 Wi-FI ---Connection ERROR---
by Guest Gagwithgaffer- 0 replies
Hello, Can you help? I'm trying to intitiate a WPA2-Enterprise WI-FI link from a Windows 7 Pro machine to my Server 2008R2 OS using Network Policy Sever. I am 99% sure I have set everything up ok, read lots of different setup guides which show to me the same results. I am using an Edimax wireless access point for connection to my Server LAN. When I click connect on the WI-FI icon in W7 then the username and password login window appears. When it tries to connect nothing happens and the connection attempt fails. I cant help but think that the connection request is not actually reaching the server NPS because when the connection fails I do not get any further error messa…

Everytime I reboot my PC MSE detects the same virus (TrojanDownloader:Win32/Cred.B)
by Guest firstnelson- 0 replies

Hi there, hoping that there's an expert out there that can help me! I am running Windows 7 on a desktop PC and all software is up to date. MSE consistently detects the same virus on start up (TrojanDownloader:Win32/Cred.B) and then removes it. I will then got a message saying that MSE has detected an unclassified item (C:\ProgramData\mshtune.exe) I submitted this program to MS but deleted it anyway. On restart (after MSE re-detected TrojanDownloader:Win32/Cred.B) I got a message saying that MSE has detected a different unclassified item (C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\fsdiag.exe) I checked to see if C:\ProgramData\mshtune.exe was still deleted and it was back as …

Office 2010 says it cannot update my corrupted Office 2003, and to repair it. Office 2003 Repair and Office 2003 Remove both say it cannot find the source files. I have the original install disk but it does not look or ask for it. I ran MS Fixit which said the update files were bad, and it fixed them. This made NO DIFFERENCE. Why can't Microsoft EVER be easy?
