Hello, I have attempted to go through a dozen forms of communication to get in contact with customer support and have run out of options. I recently upgraded my computer with a new motherboard, cpu, and ram and it triggered windows 7 to ask for another activation key (I guess it thinks it's a new computer?) and it told me that I had used all the activations for my key, even though I have only installed it on two computers. Once on my sister's computer, and twice on my desktop (I've upgraded it with a new motherboard previously). My copy of windows 7 home premium expires in a day, and I need another activation. How can I go about doing this? My product is a copy of a Wind…

I just had a phonecall from someone who said she was calling from my online P.C. doctor/helpline of Windows operating system. She said it was regarding viruses in my computer, which she could help me detect if I followed steps online which she would walk me through. I am very wary/suspicious of anything like this. I asked her for a phone number to call back. She gave me 2099 657943. Is she legit or bogus? Thank you. Continue reading...

  15. Hello I have a Windows 2008 R2, I am using the built-in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security to block some outbound traffic to specific IP addresses/protocols. While this works perfectly on the server itself, it doesn't affect the workstations which are using this same server as their gateway to the Internet (We used Routing and Remote Access (RRAS) to provide NATing to the clients). So how can we make these policies affect the traffic passing through the RAAS? Regards

I just received the latest critical Windows updates, and now my Asus Eee PC 1005-HAB won't start. I just get the Asus screen with option to go into BIOS. I have tried hitting F8, and after about an hour, I get into startup repair, which does not work. After that I can get into System Recovery Options. There have been a few messages about the problem. 1. There was something about not configuring the update properly. 2. There was DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. 3. In one check-up I could get to, it said "Unspecified changes to system config might have caused the problem." Also, "System files integrity check and repair. Result failed: Error Code = 0x490. We're having an issue with deploying Windows 7 to Dell Optiplex 980 systems using MDT 2010 beta 1. I've read other posts where people said an update of the BIOS to A02 fixed the problem for them, but it did not for us. Wasn't sure if anyone else was seeing the same behavior. We're deploying a custom WIM, but the standard Windows 7 WIMhas the same behavior. Super slow on the extracting files portion. if you put another model next to the 980, it finishes the entire process long before the 980 gets past the extracting stage. Continue reading...

Anytime I restart my XP Mode, my default printer port goes inactive and a print job will go to the secondary printer, unless only one printer is set-up, in which case, the job does not print at all (the job will pass through the status window with no errors as if it printed). So, every restart requires a reinstallation of the default printer. Continue reading...
