We currently have multiple smart card users on a Windows XP S3 enviroment. Only a handful of users have experienced this error, while none of them have a UPN that matches their SAM Account Name. We have verified that all users have the correct certicates on their smart cards. Can anyone shed some light on 1) why this error happens, 2) why it only happens to a couple of people, and 3), any way to resolve this issue? Continue reading...

ihave an htc hd7 t9292 phone, supplied with o/s 7.0 7392.0. i wanted to do tethering and was told to upgrade to windows 7.5 which i have done. i am now told that whilst tethering works on 7.5 , it only works on phones originaly supplied with 7.5 and does not work if one upgrades an original 7.0 phone to 7.5. does anyone know a way round this ? I have been running MS Sec. Ess. for a long time. Today, all of a sudden after an update, it is trying to re-update. I have done both a Full Scan and several Quick Scans, and I still have an Amber "computer may be at risk" warning. I thought the program would keep up by itself. I am thinking of re-installing it. In the meantime, I am doing an online scan with MS Safety Scanner as I have noticed my computer slowing down and using 98% of physical memory (which is 8 Gigs!), never seen this before. I am also un-installing a couple of programs that seem to be connected - HTC Sync and Adobe Air which seems to be required with HTC Sync... Any ideas? Thanks, John …

I am trying to programmatically create and edit .url files. The Internet Explorer import of Favorites from Netscape Bookmark Format files is defective. Data is both lost and corrupted during the import process while no errors or warnings are generated. Currently, Delicious exports user data in Netscape Bookmark Format. Therefore, transitioning from Delicious to Internet Explorer Favorites is not possible without losing information. This TrojanDropper:Win32/Sirefef.B shows up on my Security Essentials scan, but under action taken it says "Allowed" and will not let me click on it to remove it or even quarantine it.
