ls I need urgent help on this. I have a T400. Machine Type is 7434-A43. It came with Windows XP which over the cause of use I have upgraded to Service Pack 3. Yesterday, I did a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate. Since then I have been having these intermittent 'shutdown' on the system. No blue screen, warning or error message shows. It just goes off like a light bulb. I have installed all the necessary drivers, I have updated versions of both Power Manager and Power Management driver. So I dont know what the problem is. I searched the web and I discovered a host of other T400/T400s/T500 users who had the same problem after upgrading to Windows 7. I never had thi…

I read here that "hardware manufacturers" can disable encryption on "internal, non-removable ReadyBoost devices": http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff356869.aspx I also find the particular setting here, for unattended setup: http://207.46.16.252/en-us/library/ff715772(WS.10).aspx It specifies an "EnableEncryption" key which defines whether ReadyBoost on internal non-removable devices are encrypted. Unfortunately it defaults to "true". However, I haven't been able to find out where I might be able to change the same setting on an already-installed system. It doesn't appear to be in Local Group Policy, and I haven't been able to find something like it in the …

My Windows defender offline states "Virus and spyware definitions are out of date", they are V1.0.0 and some years old. I tried creating Defender on CDs, USB-Sticks and ISO-Files on two seperate Win7-64bit computers (PC, Notebook). During the creation phase about 220 MBytes have been downloaded in each case. However, the result after booting from the created media is "outdated". Time on both computers is set correctly. The MSE definition files are up to date on both computers. Remarks: Some months ago I used the Standalone Sweeper with no problems. Continue reading...

I have a Windows 7 start up problem. Every time I boot it crashes. I have tried the repair option this dose not work. I have run 'CHKDSK /R' THERE ARE NO ERRORS ON THE DRIVE .I cant create a Restore point it fails '0x8100042308' I have looked up your fix and I don't understand it. It won't create an 'Image Disk' either and I cant do 'Backup' it fails with '0x81000037' a problem with [JUNCTION] 'reparse points' again the explanation/fix is incomprehensible to even the most enlightened ones. The only way I can get the system to run is to boot 'last known good config' but when I shut down normally it still fails to boot next time. I am seriously considering giving up Windo…
