I've just installed Microsoft Security Essentials and un-installed Norton. I was led to believe that I would have firewall protection, but Windows keeps telling me firewall is switched off!!!! HP Laptop running XP OS started running slow and strange in the last couple of days. SE had been running and did a quick scan/no problems found. Today I ran a full scan with SE and it found 3items/ trojans which I had SE remove. SE then prompted for a reboot which I did. During the reboot, it requested a scan disk and found/fixed lots of disk errors. When it was complete, all keys/touchpad are no longer activated. I tried logging into safemode but get stuck b/c there is the Ctrl-Alt-Delete (keys not recognized). Even the ctl-alt-Detete button under the panel is not working. I have added a wireless mouse so have mouse capabilities but can't get past the CTRl-AlT-Delete …

I am using Excel 2010: I created 2 sheets that are connected. One is a worksheet that I enter alot of data on, the other is my 'final' Client Sheet that I turn into my client and it only contains the info that the client needs, so not ALL of the data in the worksheet cells are transferred. A friend help me set up the sheets so that when I type data (that will need to show up on my client's final sheet) into specific cells on my 'worksheet', it automatically transfers the data onto the Client Sheet, saving me alot of time. After some browsing, searching and reading other questions I still did not find an answer to this one. I want to set-up a 3 screen system. Sreeen 1 is the main screen and screen 2 and 3 are duplicates of each other. All screens have the same resolution of 1280 x 1024. Screen 1 is connected to an onboard Inter G41 Express Chitset the other 2 screens are connected to an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS videocard. My problem is that after e reeboot the setup is changed. Screen 2/3 have become the mainscreen and are situated to the left of screen 1. The resolution of the screens is unchanged. In the Bios I did find only 1 mode that permits me to use both display adapters together. …

I am running Windows XP with SP3. My system was infected by a virus, which has been cleaned. Now Windows Update no longer work. The windows update web site tells me that I may not be running the latest service pack (but I do, SP3 for XP). The fixit program KB50777 does not turn on windows upates. I originally installed windows 7 x32 on my computer with a 64 bit processor. My computer was running slowly so I decided to just go ahead and reinstall windows with the 64b OS. It completed successfully. After installing a few programs, it started to do a blue screen on startup and wouldn't load windows. I tried windows repair with no luck. I have an HP Pavillion a1130n running Windows XP. I noticed that my windows XP was missing SP 3. I installed it and rebooted but windows would not load (I could get in in safe mode). Hello all,(Posting on various message boards hoping for a solution.) My drive was running perfectly until i tried to burn a data-dvd disc the other day. It has done it before just fine and on the same day, i burned a music cd. The drive is: PLDS DVD+-RW DH-16A6S ATA DEVICE. It all started when i tried to backup one of my .iso files by copying it to a memorex 8x 8.5GB DVD+R with Nero 10. It stopped halfway with some generic error(that I'm sorry that i cannot remember).
