I am trying to install the icloud control panel for pc and getting an error message that I need a newer version of Windows. I currently have WIndows XP media edition. If I upgrade to WIndows 7 will I loose all of my current files? In the custom installation section it says that I need to save everything over to an external drive, but I am unsure about all of the music that I have on itunes. I'm working on a Windows 7 32-bit image of a Dell Optiplex 990. I create a local admin account named thsystem, install all the needed drivers, make the necessary customizations (shortcuts, etc), and install all of the needed software (Adobe Flash/Reader, Quicktime, Citrix, .NET 4.0, etc). I then drop my unattend.xml in the sysprep folder, run sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:unattend.xml, and then capture the image by booting off a USB drive with WinPE 3.1 and GImageX. I've had MSE installed for 6 months now but in last month weekly scan has found 3 occurences of trojans - Cridex.b twice and BlacoleRef.g. Wondering how this can happen when real time protection has been on 100% of the time ? My concern is that these viruses track banking information and I do use this computer for online banking / shopping regularly. Hello, I am running a 64bit Windows7 O/S it came with MSE pre installed, I find it is very quick and I like it. I am also running Norton Internet security. (all up to date) MSE has detected the "Trojan:HTML/Phishbank.AF" and cleans it and goes from red alert back to green, but inside of 10 minutes, it will red alert me again with the same problem. I have cleaned it 55+ times now. I installed this http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/HowToMSE.aspx but it does not seem to resolve the issue either. Can someone please help me. I received a download address from Microsoft to help get past a password error. (cannot log in and no Admin user). ERD Comander Boot Disk. I do not see a way to download. I log in with my Live login but receive message I do not have account. Is there any other way to reset password? Password must be correct because I was able to connect to server. The computer (Win 7 Pro x64 SP1) has Office Pro Plus 2010 x86 SP1 English 14.0.6112.5000. I just installed Office Language Pack 2010 x86 English. In Office Language Preferences I added German under Editing languages and under Proofing it shows Not installed. If I add other languages they show Installed. Hi, I'm trying to fix a system with a malfunctioning TCP/IP stack. The original MCE install CD is slipstreamed with SP2 so I have created a c:\xp folder containing a copy of the install CD with SP3 slipstreamed from the SP3 standalone updater on top of it. I changed HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup SourcePath to point to C:\XP but now the SFC is specifically looking for the "XP Professional Service Pack 3 CD" to be inserted. The files fp40ext.inf and ims.inf in c:\windows\inf have strings indicating that XP Professional is required but it seems that the slipstreamed folder isn't recognised as a valid XP Professional install CD. I'm having difficulty unstalling powershell. It's not in the "Add Remove Programs" list. I made a change to registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\1033, changing install from 1 to 0 and I renamed the subdirectory Windows\system32\windowspowershell to something else. I suppose that this works but I was wondering what the right way to uninstall is.
