I looked at my MSE several times today and noticed that the definitions were not updated. There were several times when I was not using the computer and I wonder why the definitions did not update automatically. The MSE still had definitions for 8/27/2011. I finally decided to do a manual update for the definitions and the updates for 8/28/2011 did download. Why didn't the definitions for 8/28/2011 download automatically? Or am I missing something? I received a message from MSE indicating a severe threat that said it needed to remove. I clicked OK, and discovered afterward that it had REMOVED (not quarantined, as I was not aware that removal was the default option) my entire Thunderbird Inbox profile. I spent all day Friday trying to recover (downloaded and ran Recuva and Diskdigger) it but have had NO luck at all. I tried to recover the profile from my Carbonite account, but the only thing is downloaded is a file dated December 19, and that did not seem to do anything, not even give me back old e-mail up until that date. After applying SP3 to XP Pro 16 bit DOS programs running in NTVDM will no longer accept keyboard input when run in fullscreen mode. I can start the programs in NTVDM windowed mode but when I switch (alt-enter) to full screen mode keyboard input is ignored by the DOS program. Even if I switch back to windowed mode the program will still not accept keyboard input. Starting in fullscreen mode will not accept input either. DOS programs tried: Foxpro v2.5, Wordperfect for DOS v5.1, Advanced Revelation v2.12, Revelation G2b. Is there a tweak to fix this? Continue reading...

It's telling that I don't have a genuine copy of windows, it has been disabled! but I do its all ready been vailadated and was pre-loaded when I bought i my conputer from Dell's on-line store , Ive had it for over a year now and when the essentials up-greaded it said I need to vailadate my window! plz help! I just purchased Office 2010 Pro Plus. I also just bought a new ASUS ALL-IN ONE coumputer. The only software installed is office 2010 and ms security essentials. When I attempt to use the data collection feature from access 2010 I get an error statement that Out look is not installed and configured. Unfortunately it is installed and configured and working fine, The Access data collection add-in is installed but access insists that outlook is not installed and aborts the data collection form. I just got a new netbook yesterday. Set a password for myself--I'm the administrator and there are no other users. Apparently I must not have typed the password as I thought (twice!) because now I keep getting an invalid password message. I have no idea how to fix this. I know this is a very comon problem and be it any other circumstance I could resolve the problem but, I don't have a disc drive and I can't use F8 for system recovery. After installing Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (Microsoft 2010 Lync) from my disk a pop up box appears that states I need to sign into Lync with my email address. I then click sign in and get a message that "cannot sign in because the server is temporarily unavailable.If problem continues please contact your support team". Have tried many times unsuccessfully. How do I recovery my email address when I don't have an alternative email address to reset it and also the mobile operator I use is not listed there at all.
