I recently attempted to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1. It got to about 99% and then wouldn't continue. "Failed configuring Service Pack Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer." It stays on this screen for around 10 or 15 minutes before rebooting. Upon reboot, it goes right back to the "Failed configuring Service Pack" message, and the cycle continues. we have a valid action pack subscription. we intstalled office professional plus 2010 on a laptop woked fine for 6 months. The only application that shows (unlicensed product) is Outlook. In fact it will not even stay open long enought to perform any functions in the program, it immediately shuts down but in the header it says (unlicensed product). we uninstalled and reinstalled. We have triple verifyed the activation key. It is correct AND valid. All of the other office applications show that they are fully activated and functioning fully. Hi all, I originally posted this question in the Answers.microsoft.com XP section but it was suggested by Support Engineer that it would be better placed here. I want to connect 2 PC's together via the PSTN using dial up modems and run remote desktop. Both machines have XP pro SP3. Both have modems. I know there are speed issues and that there are more elegant and better ways of doing it. The machines are remote from each other and without internet access by any means. WMDC simply isn't recognizing my Ipaq. It is constantly listed as "Not Connected". Uninstalling and reinstalling with admin privileges is not working. devmgmt.msc is not showing any Mobile Devices at all, and the Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter is not downloading. The only advice I have not followed is testing to see if Microsoft Security Essentials is blocking proper access. I am using XP Pro. SP-3. All but I can not manually remove a particular program from the Add or Remove Programs tool. The program is "Ulead VideoStudio 8.0" The registry entry of the program given below within the quotation marks. I have run Microsoft FixIt (Diagnose and fix program installing and uninstalling problems automatically) and it confirmed it fixed the error successfully but as I have retried to remove said program from the Add or Remove Programs tool, it again reflected the same as earlier.
