I'm trying to get the Hebrew input installed on my Exe. Dir.'s machine. We are all running Windows 7 pro. For some reason, when we switch the input language, Hebrew characters do not show up. I did the exact same process on my machine and it worked fine. I keep reading i will need to upgrade to Ultimate for full language support but it strikes me as odd that my machine works fine and hers doesn't. She just needs to be able to read and write hebrew, not to use her machine completely in hebrew. Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks! Continue reading...

Running windows XP Version 2002, service pack 3. Current updates are installed automatically. Had Microsoft security essentials installed since approx 2010 and as I have already said i run scans and updates automatically. Anyway my dell laptop crashed the other day and i had to repair the os which i was able to do Ok and everything seemed fine except I noticed that on rebooting Windows, MSE no longer appeared in the bottom tray as it usually did. Checked programs installed and it was there so I clicked on it but it would not load so I went to the Microsoft website and tried to download a repair or update for MSE but this also failed. MSE program was still showing on …

Please sorry me if I post here but is urgent ultimamamente my xp is taking much time for start, so I decided to reinstall it by choosing the solution that does not erase any programs, but only to repair the operating system. Unfortunately it frozen and if I you restart always froze in the same point. I just wrote a vbscript that I want to copy to a certain folder on all my PCs, then have a scheduled task run it as a certain user account (SYSTEM) on a certain schedule. Is there a way I can use SCCM to do this for me? If i were to do this manually, i'd have to copy the .vbs to the folder, then copy an already set up scheduled task file to c:\windows\tasks then change the username for it once its on the machine to SYSTEM. If this is the wrong forum, please let me know. Continue reading...

Before my family moved my computer downstairs and installed microsoft security essentials, the computer did not freeze. Now, it freezes very occasionally, but is more likely to freeze when I'm running a CPU-intensive task. It's a complete freeze the screen stays in one picture, any sound stops, and my only option to keep going at what I was doing is to hit the restart button. This freezing only happens when it's doing real-time protection. Help? Continue reading...

Hi - I have reason to believe that my computer is infected with something - virus, malware, something! We had been using Rogers Home Protection but it was not getting it clean. I uninstalled Rogers and installed Microsoft Security Essentials and ran my first scan. It unconvered a couple of trojans and removed them. I think there is something still there though. When I run a full scan it gets stuck on a folder that I cannot find hidden or otherwise and the scan runs for 24 hours plus. I have a lot of files but not THAT many! I have a screen shot of the scan and the path it appears to be stuck on is: C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Application Data\A…

I am looking for a quick-access function that temporarily disables real-time protection for a while (5 min / 15min / 1h?) while I am installing a program. Without this function it is a good chance that I forget to reactivate the real-time protection, leaving the PC unprotected for potentially a long time. Or is this function allready available somewhere? ZipZapp Continue reading...

Is there a way, lets say some sort of hot key, that I can hit a hotkey and have it automatically type in my email address of what ever username I am using? By Paul Thurrott Three months ago, online retailing giant didn’t even sell a tablet computer, but today the firm controls a stunning 40 percent of the market for Android-based tablets, according to one market analyst. But whichever numbers you choose to believe, one thing is certain: With its low-ball pricing, Amazon is sure to capture serious market share in this nascent market with its Kindle Fire device. And that’s bad news for high priced luxury items like Apple’s iPad. Continue reading...
