6 Principles for Hybrid Work Wellbeing
by Guest lilyolason- 0 replies
Illustration by Kyle Bean Over the last 12 months, we’ve learned a lot about working remotely. One of the things that I didn’t expect at the outset of the pandemic was how much of a challenge employee wellbeing would be. Just six months into the pandemic, 30 percent of frontline and information workers were already reporting that they felt increased burnout at work. And data from Microsoft Teams users around the world signaled that many of us were working harder and longer: We saw a 48 percent increase in Teams chats per person overall and a 69 percent increase in Teams chats per person after-hours. Now, as hybrid work takes hold, norms are shifting again. B…

I am excited to announce the availability of the Linux version of the Kusto Emulator! We released the Windows version of the Emulator last September. You can use it to develop locally on your laptop or run automated tests on a CI/CD pipeline. Today you can do the same with a Linux Container. What does that change? First, you can run it on a Linux machine (while Windows Containers must run on Windows). This is especially useful for CI/CD pipeline. Second, its size is much smaller, making it much faster to load. It is the same emulator, i.e. the Kusto Engine endpoint, packaged in a container, now a Linux container! See the announ…

by Guest lilyolason- 0 replies

By Jessica Hicks, Managing Editor at Thrive Global When stepping into a new role, especially if you'll be managing others, it's normal to feel a little unsure of yourself or what to expect. That's why new leaders are often told that their first leadership stint should focus primarily on listening to others rather than speaking their own voices. And if so many of us hear this advice, then it must have some validity — right? Not according to Sarah Lewis, Ph.D., a Harvard professor and the founder of the Vision & Justice Project. Lewis appeared on Brené Brown's podcast, "Dare to Lead," and when asked about leadership advice, Lewis had an interesting take on…

Prevent repeat attacks with threat-informed security posture recommendations
by Guest israelcohen- 0 replies

As organizations continue to face an ever-evolving threat landscape, it is essential to have an effective posture management strategy in place. To do this effectively, security analysts not only need to consider industry standards and vendor best practices, but also take recent attacks into consideration. Investigating incidents that affected the organization helps understanding how the adversary got in and what misconfigurations were leveraged during the attack. These learnings enable security analysts to identify which settings should be addressed to close those gaps and prevent the organization from being affected by the same attack again. Microsoft 365 Defender…

Purpose: Example of how-to set up TDE using BYOK on Azure SQL Database Server using Python code. setting up TDE using BYOK is made of two steps. step 1 - adding server key. step 2 - applying the server key as encryption protector. you may add more than one server key, but just one can be the encryption protector which will be used for TDE.
