You know how you click the drop down arrow in the URL address bar and it shows the recently visited sites? Under IE8, the recent sites that I had typed in would show up in the top of the list and there would be about 10 of them in the list. I just installed IE9 and now this list is half that and it only shows 5 sites! I find this rather frustrating and I would like to expand the size of that list back to 10. (or at least larger than 5) I know there is a "History" section also in this drop down list and you can 'expand' that section, but this list is just NOT functional for me. I am creating a dual boot system with three partitions. Partition one will be my "normal" system, with Windows 7 Home and all the stuff I normally use for school and play. Partition two will be my playground, with Windows 7 Professional, SharePoint 2010, Visual Studio 2010, etc. Basically it will be the partition I use for exploring Microsoft technologies. The third partition will be shared between both boot scenarios. (The boot options will be 1&3 or 2&3.) The question is: can I install Office 2010 on the shared partition? I installed the SE but while updating for virusand spyware definitions ,the icon os showing updating ,but for more than half and hour the green bar has been in the middle ,so is it working or there is some problems? and usually how much time does it take to update for the first time(speed 3.1 Mbps) ? while downloading SE, the process was interrupted a couple of times, does this may be cause of the problem? I have recently had to reinstall XP on a laptop which got a nasty virus. I did a clean quick reformat of the drive using the backup disk supplied with the computer. (The exhaustive re-format stalled at 14% so had to use the quick reformat.) I then installed XP with SP2 from the same disk. Next, I installed the hardware drivers and BIOS upgrade recommended by Dell. OK so far. I had internet access through IE6 and all fundamental programs with XP SP2 seemed to work fine. I have the fully paid up version of AVG Internet Security on my PC. Despite being ticked in all the right boxes for internet protection I found it had not checked ANY of my email accounts. I have a problem with my hotmail and msn messenger. I have a person showing a "friends update" on MSN Messenger who is not on my list of contacts and keep getting emails from hotmail contacts that have been hacked. I contacted AVG who advise me that web based email accounts like Hotmail, Yahoo or AOL are not protected by their product- but they could be syncronised with windows mail. Hello, This problem has been filed several times before but I didn't see a solution to it so far. IE9 on Windows 7 32 bits When I browse to web-pages with IE9, my desktop icons refresh in 50% of the cases. After such a desktop refresh, the same happens with my start-menu icons when I open the start menu. The same happens with the shortcut icons to programs that I have brought together in a folder. This is extremely annoying ! and until now there has not been any reaction from MS, nor has there been a solution . Hi all. I using qooxdoo framework, java 1.6, ie 8. I have one applet in a js page. When the applet is loaded, I get a dialog box saying "Stack overflow at line: 0". It does not come all the time. It comes just after the applet is loaded. After click OK button functionality of application works fine. I am not sure whether it is an applet problem or a javascript problem. The problem occurs in all the pages having applet the "Stack overflow at line: 0" popup appears sporadically. There are pages without applets and popup does not appear for them. I do use netscape.javascript.JSObject for applet to javascript communication. And there are calls from javascript to applet …

I woke up this morning and my computer had rebooted and displayed the message "Windows was updated". i went to open Internet Explorer, and all the wrong tabs I had preset had changed to other SPECIFIC tabs that a friend of mine views when he visits (he is computer illiterate, and does not know hot to go into settings and change this information)... also, all my saved passwords are gone.
