Hello, I presently have Windows 7 Home Premium running on a Sony Vaio VGN CS390. I did a complete restore to the original Sony Vista Home. Upgraded to Windows 7 home, and upgraded all the drivers to Windows 7 64-bit using Sony discs. I have a physical copy of Windows 7 Professional that I want to use to UPGRADE (If I do a full install all the Sony software and drivers will be lost (particular parts of the computer won't work). However, the physical disc only allows a full install. Instead, I used Windows Anytime Upgrade. It started, I think something like 74 files were downloaded, and the install was well on its way. Before the upgrade completed, I left the comput…

My computer had an issue and would lock-up after being running for 5 minutes. It would take 5-10 minutes to start-up. After locking up 3 times when booting in safe mode, the computer asked if I wanted to restore my computer to last saved spot and asked what files I wanted to save. It restrored my computer to factory settings and did not save my pictures or documents. Luckily for me I had 95% saved to another data source. By my internet settings and a few crucial documents and pictures are lost ( I think). It had me choose what to save - it stated it would save it c:\os..... I cannot find them. Is there anyway to retrieve the docs and pics?? Recovery on the E look…

I can not print IE9 pages. All I get are blanks. I used to print IE8 pages, OK. I can print from any MS Office products, Paint, and other non-Microsoft products so the printer works OK. The only way I can print from IE9 is to do a Ctl/Print Screen (copys to the clipboard) open Paint paste the page there via Ctl/V (from the Clipboard) 'crop' it to what I want then print it. Where or what can I check or fix to be able to print from IE9? Continue reading...

I have tried and tried and tried to figure this error out. I installed outlook, added my credentials properly into the mail settings and I receive this error. No, it's not a godaddy issue. This is straight out of the box and all I find are godaddy related issues. I cannot get this resolved. I have changed the .pst file, I have removed and reentered the email settings, I have searched for TWO days on Microsoft's site and cannot find an actual resolution, and no, I can't afford the $295/hr they will gladly charge me for something that didn't work 10 minutes after a new purchace, download and install. I am not on Exchange, I do know my ISP credentials and I know they are co…

After how many decades of the "Favorites" being on the left side of the screen here it is on IE 9 on the right. Oh sure, after I open the list i can switch it to the left where it belogs, but apparently I must do that each time I open the list. Excuse me but who is the bonehead (much cleaned up) who decided this would be a spiffy new change? Is there a way to keep the list on the left? Is there a way to put the button to open the list back on the left where it belongs? Window 7 is so much better than previous operating systems. I was starting to have some faith in MSFT and then this completely idiotic move. Continue reading...
