When I run a Full Scan, which takes several hours, I will get the Green indicator showing I am protected but at the very next time I boot up the warning: Computer Status - Potentially Unprotected appears again. Word 2010 Printing Gray Instead of Black
by Guest Angstromm- 0 replies
Word 2010 won’t print in black—prints gray instead. I’ve made sure the selected text in set black, I’ve checked and rechecked printer properties, etc., and have tried switching to gray-scale printing as well w/ the same result. I saved a test doc to rtf, opened in WordPad, printed and it came out black. Same deal with NotePad. So the problem seems to be in Word itself. I’ve tried Googling for fixes w/o success. Word ver. 14.0.6112.5000 32-bit Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit HP Deskjet 6122 (latest "replacement" driver) Continue reading...

Wndows Security Essentials Corrupted my System Mechanic Pro in WIN7 64bit
by Guest Blackbutt3- 0 replies
Hi, i recently installed Windows Security Essentials but didn't like it so I unistalled it, Since then I can no longer run System Mechanic Pro 10. I get an error message "IoloSystemService" is required for System Mechanic to operate properly and could not be started. When I click on ISS to start it, it tries then stops. Now my problem is, If this can't be resolved without my reinstalling Widows, I'm going to be really annoyed. To my mind it's a Microsft problem not Iolo's. It was the Windows Security essentials thar corrupted my system, So I expect Microsoft to come up with a solution. You can reply to me via my email at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.…

My pc restarts itself unexpectedly
by Guest Festus1001- 0 replies
My pc restarts itself when I try to install or uninstall anything from programs to updates. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it and have read many threads on here about random shutdowns but no solutions seem to help. My pc started doing this a few days ago when I turned it on. After about 2-3 minutes it restarted itself. I didn't think anything of it until it did it everytime windows started. I thought it might be malware and started up in safe mode where this problem didn't occur. I conducted many scans using AVG and Malwarebytes they didn't find anything and the problem wasn't fixed so I thought maybe a system restore would fix whatever was going on. It see…

Specify in image which driver to use when a certain printer is plugged in?
by Guest Josh in Edmonton- 0 replies
I've got an image made, Win 7 Enterprise 32bit, which we're running on vmware esx and using citrix xendesktop. When the user logs off their session, the vm restarts and boots back up to the original state. The problem I'm having is that a user plugs in a usb lexmark t642 printer and windows automatically picks which driver to use for it. There are two drivers, a lexmark universal driver and a lexmark t640 series (ms) driver. Windows picks the universal automatically, which for this printer has some quirks that the user is not happy about. When I manually change the driver in use to the t640 series (ms), the user is happy. But of course that change only lasts for their se…

How do I tackle the error code 0x80070564 for inability to turn on real-time protection?
by Guest HP Mishra- 0 replies
Hi. It's the first time I'm facing any problem with Security Essentials (SE). I'd put my PC's SE on scan mode, 'switched user', and gone out, while another user logged in to work. Later, when I logged back in, I found that the scan was half-finished, and the SE stood automatically turned off. My efforts to turn on real-time protection have failed. So the question is: How do I tackle the error code 0x80070564 for inability to turn on real-time protection? HPM Continue reading...

Not sure what happened, but I keep getting the error: Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer. Tablet usage share among adults in the US doubled during this time period, the firm claims, as did that of eBook readers. The big winner?
