I 'finally' figured out how to get my movied from the camera onto my lap top and into windows movie maker. I put it in the strip at the bottom in order. My thought is---get them in there and then edit. Once in and saved, I played it and it is just frame by frame--------even after saving it. What am I missing---------what do I need to do? The instructions are not that clear 'to me' anyway and I'm trying to make a film of my son's skills to get to college!!!!!!! HELP.......... Continue reading...

I received a phone call from "Microsoft" saying errors had been reported on my PC and they wanted access to help me with my problem. Convincing patter re event viewer info on errors and transferred to their expert. On enquiry it is a company called Optimize PC Service http://www.optimizepcservice.com/ who claim to be registered partners of Microsoft. It seems they might want cash for "fixing" non-existant problems? Anyone aware of this? Continue reading...

Hi, I'm having problems with 1 machine and the way it is handling .ASHX files from websites. The website I am using for testing is this one http://ggpweb.uttlesford.gov.uk/CMISWebPublic/Default.aspx but I am assured by the user that the behaviour is common to all similar websites that use .ashx On correctly working machines, using either IE9 or Firefox 9 clicking on one of the document links on the right hand side of that page results in a dialog box aksing "What do you want to do with Binary.doc?" or "Binary.pdf" or whatever the target document file type might be. On the machine that is not handling .ashx correctly the dialog box asks "What do you want to do with Bin…

I've recently changed from Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit and I'm having a few issues with Active Directory for an Exchange 2003 environment. I've installed the 64 bit version of Remote Adminstration Server tools for Windows 7, however when I launch Active Directory Users and Computers I appear to be missing the Exchange related tabs, 'Exchange Advanced' 'Exchange Features' etc, this is with the Advanced Features ticked. If I launch dsa.msc -32 I get the Exchange tabs, but instead it's missing other tabs, 'Remote Desktop Services profile' 'Unix Attributes', 'Remote Control' etc. Is there anyway I can get either the 64 bit dsa.msc or the 32 bit dsa.msc to dis…

Hello - Just yesterday my Internet Explorer started giving me issues. The fault is that you can open it & it goes to the home page. You can then run a google search. The text on top of the page tab changes to the new page as if it has found it but the actual page doesn't change. refresh etc does nothing. I can then open a new blank tab. Run a google search, pick on a found item & the same happens again. The page stays as google search but the tab text changes. I then need to open a new tab everytime to continue as nothing happens. I tried removing 9 & re-installing, Tried a different version with Bing added, removed & re-installed google toolbar in but no…

I continually get a code 10 in my device manager when I connect my samsung sch-i220. I cannot get a connection, so I cannot use active sync. I understand that code 10 is saying I do not have updated drivers for this but cannot find a driver that will work. Last time I connected the samsung handheld, it appears as a usb mass storage item, rather than a samsung handheld. What can I do to get connected? Which version of active sync must I use for this older phone? Continue reading...

Background: We have had a successful Man in the Middle attack during an internet banking session over IE9 where the amount of a transfer and the payee were modified (thankfully the bank’s fraud squad picked this up and we are going through the reimbursement process). We use Trend Micro and a few days prior to the “Man in the Middle” incident it found and cleaned a Trojan called TROJ_SPNR.03CG11 / Trojan-Banker.Win32.Banker.bayq Banks Advice: Their advice is that we should do a clean install on Win7 on all PC’s that we would do internet banking from and not trust the Virus Scanners or other tools to remove the “Man in the Middle” infection in IE. They also indicated t…

I installed IE9 and after that all it would give me is "page cannot be displayed." I tried every fix I could find in this forum, and nothing helped. I am having to use another computer to ask this question. I verified that I am on the wireless network, but the stupid program doesn't work correctly. I am currently attempting a system restore so I can get my PC back to its original state before the stupid update. Any clues from anyone? Continue reading...

I asked this question, and got a suggestion to un-install & reinstall. Which I have done -- and the issue persists: The MSE window opens automatically every time I download anything. Can I stop this? Why does the window always open? Can I stop it from opening? The open window has the "Scan Now" button--but I assume that, because of my settings, the scan of download occurs automatically, so I don't need to do anything--but close the window. Am I missing something? Is there a way to stop the nuisance of the window always opening? My settings: Vista Home Premium: 2 Internal SATA drives, 3 External drives - Daily Quick scan, check for updates before scan. - …
