Hi, Internet Explorer won't render content if the first font specified in CSS is a Type 1 font (e.g. Helvetica) and the Type 1 font is installed on the machine browsing to the site. Uninstalling the particular font 'cures' the problem. Look at http://www.canbyherald.com for an example. There should be stories listed down the middle of the screen. If you have Type 1 Helvetica installed, though, you'll see white space there instead. We've cleaned up our own sites to prevent this problem from plaguing our readers but we have 325 internal computers being used by our own users. We're a publishing company and have tens of thousands of existing documents that use Type 1 fonts …

Even I open it a lot, the shortcut doesn't move further to the top. Is there a way to have the shortcut to appear near the top? Thanks Continue reading...

Hi, MY CURRENT SITUATION: I have setup a reference machine running Windows 7 with all drivers and software installed and configured correctly. I then Sysprep my reference PC (I have previous experience of Sysprep in Windows 2000 and XP environments) and have created a unattended answer file in System Image Manager (SIM) and run the following command: sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:e:\sysprep.xml The system goes through the Sysprep process and shuts down. I then boot into Symantec Ghost 11.5 and take an image of the machine which I can then GhostCast my other PCs. On the first boot the machines go through the Sysprep process and only asks for a PC name to…

Hi I am looking for a way to distribute and administering the Calendar group feature in Outlook 2010. the only way as I see is that the individual user must go thrue the "Add calendar group" function and add the individual calendars to the groups on each computer (and with the terminal server issues). This is time consuming and requires that the user "wishes" to be able to do so and furthermore maintain the company groups like IT-sales, Logistics and so on. Is there a way (group policy, scripting, Outlook Add-in or other) to distribute and maintain a number of groups from a centralized proces. Anyone ???? . . . . . I'm desperate :-) Continue reading...

Hello all, As part of an install on some machines here at work, I need to load a registry hive to the OS after installing it using imagex. This is all done in the WinPe environment . I know how to use regedit to load the additional changes to the reg hive (which is located in C:\Windows\System32\Config) using a created hive file or a reg file. I am wondering if someone knows how to do this programmatically in WinPe via maybe batch script or vbscript (my WinPe does have the WSH stuff enabled). Note: I need to do this in WinPE because the reg keys that I am modifying are restricted in Win7 therefore I wont have the admin rights to do it within the OS when it loads. Con…

Specs: Windows 7 pro, 64-bit. Internet Explorer 8. When entering text in the Google search field, I got a pop-up box asking, "Do you want to view only the web content that was delivered securely?", so set "Display mixed content" to "Enabled". Still got the warning. I eventually enabled mixed content for all zones (Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, and even Restricted sites). I'm still getting the pop-up. I added google.com to my list of trusted sites, but still get the warning. I also get a warning that IE has blocked Active-X scripts from running on the page. Again, this occurs even when I specifically enable Active-X. If I click the info bar and allow sc…
