Upon leaving my last employer I was given my laptop running Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit as part of a severance package. Around six months later, I am now receiving Key Activation errors. I suspect this is caused by Enterprise windows not able to find its original server. I have a couple of questions. 1 - Can I get my current copy of Windows to behave like a home version or re-activate the license? 2 - If I need to downgrade to a lower, home version will I lose all data and installs from the new installation? Hi All I am facing a strange problem. I have FTP server(IIS6.0), this structure contains a lot of folder levels in many places more than 5. Account lockout threshhold is 3 attempts. Whenever user accesses FTP servers its account lockout log is getting generated. Though user doesnt complains to get his accont locked. Just as is its account lockout logs are getting generated at FTP server. I found one hot fix for IE6, is there any for IE8. I installed a new hard drive, motherboard and RAM. My PC had crashed. No operating system is installed at this point after my hardware upgrade. My old hardware in my PC was running an upgrade version of XP 32bit and when I installed it, it was on a previous new hard drive. I did not own the full version of XP but I did own the full version of windows 98 second edition. When I installed windows XP to the new drive I put the upgrade XP version into the DVD rom and started the install. Hello all, I have a friend with a faulty computer and I am helping out. The problem with the computer is that the hard drive is failing and needs replacing. I can access the information on the drive ok when I take it out of the machine, and connect it up to another machine via SATA to USB cable. So I can still access the files, I just can't boot from it. The customer tells me that they have Office 2010 installed on the machine, but there is no license key/product key sticker available anywhere. I am using Windows 7, Explorer 9.0.4 64 bit. I keep having a recurring problem: I will try to visit a page, but get the "IE cannot display the webpage" message. It seems to happen most on pages that have lots of imbedded displays IMDB.com is all but unviewable. Sometimes, there will be a flash of the desired page, then the Cannot Display message sometimes it's possible to hit the Back button, and the correct page will display. Hi all, Am trying to use the AIK's WSIM application to make my own Autounattend.xml file. This file, along with the Windows install source, is copied onto a USB stick / thumb drive, and the PC is booted from that drive to install Windows 7. Note that there is no WDS, no MDS or anything else in use here. The Autounattend.xml works in general, in that I can use it set disk partitions, accept the EULA and enter the license key. I, too, have a big problem with Callibri. Not only is it an ugly-as-sin typeface, but whenever I get to the bottom of inputting something in my notebook, using Garamond 12 pt. (the typeface I have chosen for my default), the program reverts to Callibri 8 pt., grey. I realize I can fix each instance of this by using "format painter," but that's a lot to ask of someone using a presumably modern piece of software. From other posts going back several years, I see that Microsoft seems to have a Callibri fixation, and that Microsoft hasn't fixed the problem.
