If you need to reimage a computer that is a domain member, do you have to disjoin it from the domain before you reimage it? I recently purchased a copy of Office 2010 Professional Plus to replace the Office Starter that came with my computer. Since I had a workplace discount, I purchased a physical copy of Office and didn't download it. Upon installing Office 2010 Pro, I found that documents and excel sheets were still opening into Starter when opened from the desktop... there was no problem with the install and Office 2010 Pro did, and still does, work normally, but my files were still defaulting to Starter. I recently opened a new account as the administrator. My previous one was the administrator. When I opened the new account it did not prompt for me to enter a password. I can't get into the account. I have an ASUS motherboard with dual video connectors (a VGA and a DVI). There's two Gateway monitors attached. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise. The system been working just fine for over a year. Today, it now seems to be having trouble supporting dual monitors. Windows sees one monitor, and the 2nd monitor it cycles -- it sees the monitor for a moment, then it doesn't, then it sees the monitor, then it doesn't... If I unplug the video cable from first monitor, then Windows will see and use the 2nd monitor. So, I'm thinking it's more likely a software issue than a hardware issue. I have Microsoft 2010 which I purchased in August 2011. However, my computer crashed on February 6, 2012 and it has been shipped to the factory for repair. The company provided me a loaner and I downloaded a trial version on on February 6, or 7, 2012. That computer crashed and I now have a 2nd loaner. I have bought a windows 7 ( home) computer and a new external hard drive (TOSHIBA V63600-C WINDOWS7 COMPATABLE). The problem I have is that in explorer it is not seen. In computer manager it is displayed as disk 1 , basic, 931BG, online. THe 931BG shows as healthy (Primary partition) . In the top panel, there is an icon with the correct details but no voloum name. right click on disk 1 only give the option to convetr to dynamic, properties and help. right click on the partition has delete and help. Hi all. I recently recieved a Dell machine, Win7 Pro SP1, with IE9 pre-installed. This customer is standardized on IE8. I un-installed IE9 thinking it's no big deal to just download IE8, but as it turns out Microsoft has pulled another "use what we want, not what you want" situation so there appears to be no downloads of IE8 for Win7. I've tried the Vista/Server 2008 versions, the installer detects th OS version and immediately says no. IE8 is fully compatible with Win7 (SP1 or not) so there is no reason for this nonsense as far as I'm concerned. I'd like to know why this situation exists, if anybody has any insight on that.
