I have Windows XP and I had a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 that I purchased around August 2010. All of a sudden, about 3 days ago, I started having a problem with the arrow keys. Every time I pressed any of the arrow keys and held it down to go quicker, a little trail of cursor blinks was created. I would type a word, then arrow left to correct a wrongly typed letter and not be able to see the word clearly because of the trail of cursor blinks. But once I fixed the error in the word and then continued typing, the trail of cursor marks would disappear. I tried the following: 1. Plugging the keyboard into a different USB port, twice. 2. Uninstalling and reins…

So, I am setting up a backup system on an XP machine, and we have decided to move away from the more twitchy DAT drives to external hard drives. These are USB drives (and eventually we may install an eSATA port as both drives support eSATA) but for now we use USB. I have the Volume Label and Volumn Serial Number for the Drives. The Label's are the same both are labeled "Backup". I Want both drives to always take the SAME letter. Doesn't matter what letter in my mind, just that when I plug in Drive 1, it gets assigned G:. I Unplug it and plug in Drive 2, it should be assigned G: as well. I have tried doing the "NoDrives" registry value to attempt to limit this, bu…

The fourth platform of IE10 simplifies building cross-site scenarios that work consistently across browsers by supporting Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) for XMLHttpRequest (XHR). CORS for XHR makes sharing data across sites simple and flexible. In the most basic scenario CORS enables creating data sources accessible from any site, and with a few small tweaks you can choose to constrain allowed sites, support data modification, and even allow authentication. Most importantly CORS keeps existing sites secure by requiring server participation. Simple Cross-Origin XHR Let’s look at how a cross-origin XHR request compares to a same-origin request. From script, the on…
