I am mounting the image and then starting the setup...but it shows me the error message "Windows Setup cannot find a location to store temporary files.To install Windows,make sure that a partition on your boot disk has 685 MB of free space." I have MS Security Essentials (MSE) installed on my HP notebook computer, & keep it up to date. I also have installed the Norton Internet Security (NIS) software package by Symantec Corp. for which I pay approx. $50. per year. As a retiree Senior Citizen, I consider $50. per year a costly & unnecessary luxury if it duplicates the services provided by MSE. In the one head-to-head matchup I have observed between MSE & NIS, MSE came through to detect & isolate the security threat, & NIS failed to do so (as far as I can determine). I am thinking of letting my subscription to NIS lapse, as my very computer-literate son urges me to do. Am I making a mistake…

Initially Windows 7 setup cannot see my sata drive, after installing the drivers from a cd, all my partitions come up fine and I can delete, create, format etc. However when I select a new partition to install to, setup gives me the above error with no more details, anyone have an idea what's going on here? Instaling my last Win7 sp1 and it gets a 80004005. x64. I know from other threads that this is a generic error. I've tried the following: 1. sfc/scannow - indicated no errors 2. I am unable to sign back on to Windows Marketplace after replacing my HTC HD2 smartphone that uses Windows Mobile 6.5. It says I have too many phones. I only have one that I use day to day and a spare in case the other one is down. I have had to replace the phone several times recently due to receiving defective replacements.
