It seems like this problem has been popping up a lot and I've read threads on it all over the place, but it doesn't seem like any solutions have been posted anywhere yet. Was curious if there was any word on what the problem is? I'm trying to clean install from XP and not long after you select "Install" from the Win 7 welcome page do you hear the DVDROM stop spinning, then the screen hangs for 5 mins, then you get the message. I am Japanese and living in Tokyo with my family. Since my daughter will enter University in Japan this April, I would like to buy "Office University 2010" for her and language pack for japan. Microsoft Security Essentials detected several Worm:Win32/Vobfus.F threats on my computer after a scan. I have been able to delete them all apart from one, for which there is no option to remove. 'Error 1324. The folder path 'My Pictures' contains an invalid character' message is a huge problem with Windows 7. Anytime a user has folder redirection for document, pictures, music, ect... msi's will give the following message when configuring or installing. Not all MSI's have a problem but some do and it makes deploying software a nightmare. Yes, I know there is the option of resetting your user shell folder paths back to default, but we need redirection and the msi packages do not like the \\servername\ in the users profile path. Every time I click my IE icon to get online, it opens, then immediately a box pops up and the browser closes. The box says view and track your downloads. The name is getpagemodel...www.google.com. It asks me if I want to save this file, but no matter what I do (save, save as...or X) IE will not open. Thankfully I also have Mozilla available, or I'd never be able to access the web. Hi everyone , First of all i have 4 hard drives disk 0 60 Gb disk 120 Gb disk 2 300 Gb disk 3 1 Tb . I run Microsoft Security Essentials, after the run, I restart the computer as directed. In a few minutes, I get the message that I need to run Microsoft Security Essentials again as the virus has been detected. I also ran the microsoft virus fix-it. I had a virus that I had trouble removing ,I finally got rid of it,but my microsoft security essentials got messed up in the process.I tried deleating the program was not able to do that.I received a message stating that I could not delete shell.dll. I had to restore my Sony Vaio from factory settings and now would like to restore my Internet Explorer 8 favorites list from a folder on my c-drive. I tried following instructions under favorites/import and export/import from a file/favorites but get an error when I try to run the process: Please enter a valid file name.
