Hi, My purpose is to have a specefic PC name and I changed OOBE.XML file.... it worked. But when OOBE screen appears and user is asked to enter the user name ... here if user want they can replace the PC name. But I dont want user to have the p[ossibility to change the predefined PC name. Is there way I can make it "Grayed" so user cant change it? If I provide the user name info in the unattend.xml then this page will not appear .. but I want to appear this page and let user to have the user name as they like but not change the PC name. Hello, I am running Microsoft security essential on windows vista-32 bit. I use internet through my clg proxy server. Although my windows update is running perfectly fine. It asks for my login id and password to connect to proxy server and updates. But this is not happening with security essential. After the migration to Windows 7 64 bits, loading de SharePoint 2010 portal with the FQDN in the IE as default page is very slow. After starting IE and waiting you can start a FireFox session en type the FQDN url and then the FireFox site is the first one that is complete on the screen. When you start IE with the NETBIOS name of the site, then it is loading fast. We prefere to use the FQDN site name, because of the users outsite the office. Ran Security Essentials scan on computer. Detected Alureon.H and couldn't remove but it prompted me to download WIndows Defender Beta. Did so and ran it and it detected same and I clicked clean after the almost 2 hour full scan. System rebooted and fails to start Windows 7. Blue screen goes back to fast to read. Tried option to Launch Startup Recovery but after it grinds about 30 minutes it fails. Appears cure is worse than the curse. Any ideas to recover and not loose data and applications. In IE 9 when the zoom level is set between 100 to 200 % the data in the screen disappears. The table coulmns as well as the data in the table in the screen disappear. However when the zoom is set at 200% the data again returns. For the last couple of days, Everytime I go to Google's website I get a message saying "Internet Explorer has stopped working". Then it will retry connecting to google three times before it shuts down the internet completely. I just recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 thinking it would resolve the issue. But it didn't. I tried to back up my computer, but my computer keeps encountering a problem and won't restore the last update. I checked my computer for viruses, everything came back good. I have been tasked with a job that is outside of my skill set. Learning on the fly. Please be patient with me. I have hundreds of XP machines that will be brought into the AD. They will all use a single logon account. I need for them to logon automatically, then without a desktop displayed, launch a custom program. No other options and nothing to be able to click on. Hello, I have been using MSE on my new computer (windows 7 64-bit) for about 8 months now, and my system would usually take about 20-25 seconds to boot to desktop, with the MSE icon turning green at around 30 secs. However, starting last saturday,AFTER a routine disk defrag ("defrag and optimise" option that I do every week with Auslogics Disk Defrag to maintain system speed), I experienced a power outage. I bought the Q90U in 2006. The pc it was on died a horrible death and I attempted to transfer the monitor to a new system a few years later. By the time this occurred, I had no idea what the pin number was to deactivate the anti theft screen. I repeatedly tried to contact Hyundai tech support and finally got in contact with an American tech rep. He tried many different things, no joy. I'm operating Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit. My anti virus is: Windows Security Essentials. I have an Artisian Epson 835 All in one printer connected to my pc via usb. Attempts to scan a document from the printer to the pc fails if I have Real Time protection activated. The ONLY way I 'm successful in scanning is I have to go into Security Essentias, and UNCHECK REAL TIME Protection! Is there a work around/fix for this, or do I have to go into Security Essentials and un check *real time protection, every time I want to scan from the 835 Artisian All In One printer to my pc?
