Hi, MY CURRENT SITUATION: I have setup a reference machine running Windows 7 with all drivers and software installed and configured correctly. I then Sysprep my reference PC (I have previous experience of Sysprep in Windows 2000 and XP environments) and have created a unattended answer file in System Image Manager (SIM) and run the following command: sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:e:\sysprep.xml The system goes through the Sysprep process and shuts down. I then boot into Symantec Ghost 11.5 and take an image of the machine which I can then GhostCast my other PCs. On the first boot the machines go through the Sysprep process and only asks for a PC name to…

Distributing Calendar groups in Outlook 2010
by Guest Office 2007 sdk- 0 replies
Hi I am looking for a way to distribute and administering the Calendar group feature in Outlook 2010. the only way as I see is that the individual user must go thrue the "Add calendar group" function and add the individual calendars to the groups on each computer (and with the terminal server issues). This is time consuming and requires that the user "wishes" to be able to do so and furthermore maintain the company groups like IT-sales, Logistics and so on. Is there a way (group policy, scripting, Outlook Add-in or other) to distribute and maintain a number of groups from a centralized proces. Anyone ???? . . . . . I'm desperate :-) Continue reading...

Hi All, We have two users who edit the same excel file in office 2010 and both users have write access to the file. Both users are using Win7 Enterprise, Office 2010. Everything is up to date. If person A has the excel file open, and person B tries to open it, person B doesn't get the 'file in use' message But if person B has the excel file open and person A tries to open, person A DOES get the message. does anyone have any insight on why this might be the case? modifying registry hive in WinPe
by Guest althurm- 0 replies
Hello all, As part of an install on some machines here at work, I need to load a registry hive to the OS after installing it using imagex. This is all done in the WinPe environment . I know how to use regedit to load the additional changes to the reg hive (which is located in C:\Windows\System32\Config) using a created hive file or a reg file. I am wondering if someone knows how to do this programmatically in WinPe via maybe batch script or vbscript (my WinPe does have the WSH stuff enabled). Note: I need to do this in WinPE because the reg keys that I am modifying are restricted in Win7 therefore I wont have the admin rights to do it within the OS when it loads. Con…

I don't always have to be on the internet to get the blue screen. I have AVG and super anti-spy ware and do run full scans and they say that there is no threats. So what else can I try? Difficulty accessing Google with IE8
by Guest bobbiker- 0 replies
Specs: Windows 7 pro, 64-bit. Internet Explorer 8. When entering text in the Google search field, I got a pop-up box asking, "Do you want to view only the web content that was delivered securely?", so set "Display mixed content" to "Enabled". Still got the warning. I eventually enabled mixed content for all zones (Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, and even Restricted sites). I'm still getting the pop-up. I added google.com to my list of trusted sites, but still get the warning. I also get a warning that IE has blocked Active-X scripts from running on the page. Again, this occurs even when I specifically enable Active-X. If I click the info bar and allow sc…
