This is on my desktop and I did not install it. I clicked on it and it says it monitors websites and keeps them from getting your information. Isn't this the same as other antispyware programs? I've been told that if a program is installed on your computer, it may be a virus planted it, so is this legimate or from a virus? Continue reading...

With Windows 8, you have an unprecedented choice of devices for browsing the Web, from large desktop screens to small slates. In order to accommodate this range of devices, the browser must be able to scale and layout the Web at many different screen sizes and dimensions. We've previously blogged about some of the features in IE that support these scenarios. Sub-pixel positioning (of text and layout) is one of the core platform technologies which enable Web pages to look beautiful and consistent at any scale. In this post, we describe changes made in IE10 to better support sub-pixel positioning through the CSS-OM. Web developers can build beautiful layouts through a…

Hello. We've come across what seems to be a bug in remote desktop and/or group policy on W7 - If you've setup remote desktop via group policy, if you for a gp refresh on the remote session, it disconnects the user from the remote session. Also happens when gp does a background refresh. Anyone had similar issue? Continue reading...

The methods listed below have been verified in a non AD domain, so if you use Domain level GPOs you may need to do further testing to make sure that the local gpo settings listed below are not over written by the domain policies. Also, if there is a Default User.v2 share in your netlogon shares you may need to set the permissions to that folder to "deny all" so that the windows 7 client won't pull whatever profile is there. Non sysprep method (sysprep method follows) Make group policy changes (these are what causes win 7 to not look toward the server for a default profile) • Computer Config > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles > o…

Hi, I've created some SSRS reports that have embedded hyperlinks, that link between the different reports. The SSRS reports are stored as MHTML files and opened in Internet Explorer. Now in IE8, I've noticed that occasionally that when I click on a link, it brings me to the page but doesn't load it. The URL is correct but the page is blank. Selecting the URL and pressing Enter will load it correctly, but the problem persists when you starting using the links again. I've observed that hovering over the link just before this bug occurs, IE adds something to the URL that causes this, it looks something like: MHTML:file://!x-usc: Normally the link looks like this, and the…

I am using vista home basic and my mouse keeps freezing. Have tried unplugging mouse and replugging and this does sometimes work. The last PC I had the same problem but found a helpful website which told me that it was caused by a start up program and after downloading a prog from their website this allowed me to see what was causing the problem and remove the problem. Alas though I lost track of this prog and can no longer find it. I would be grateful for any help with this . George Continue reading...
