Hai,, "Missing operating system" massage is coming when i start my system. I think because , i had given "mark partition as active" option for one hard dive (E) in disk management when last time i opened. it did not have any data. i did not know, this will make any problem. Now i am not able to boot windows re installation dvd also. i can only take BIOS settings. I have a Dell laptop running Win 7 64bit installed at the factory. About 2 weeks ago IE9 stopped working properly. Whenever I try to open a link that opens a new page, I just get a blank page and tab. If I open a link that opens in the same page, it will work. The problem occurs even in safe mode. I tried resetting IE9 including deleting personal settings, but the problem remains. I uninstalled IE9 then reinstalled it, but still the same problem. Disenabling all ad-ons does not work. So I'm used to using Ghost to deploy Windows systems. But I think our current version does not support Windows 7. It's pretty old. So I was looking online to see what my other options were and it all seems so complicated anymore. According to Microsoft there are a bazillion things that need to be done before making the image. Another bazillion to create the image. And then another bazillion to depoy it. Thats like 3 bazillion steps for something that used to be so simple. Maybe I'm just an old-timer. I run Vista Home premium. Securiity Essentials is installed. At times a Defender window pops up requesting that Defender be turned off in order to proceed. When you click the off request or cancel the window it freezes and blocks additional work. If you click the close( X ) it eventually closes. The Defender Program is not listed as a installed program on my computer but there are indications it was there at one time. I am the origional owner. Help would be appreciated.
