hi guys, i got 2 task on hand Task A - deployment Task B - testing Task B cannot begin until Task A is completed. Task A must be completed on that day and so is task B. (maybe 1 in the morning and 1 in the noon or late evening) However, when creating a gantt chart in MS project, TASK A which take 1 MANDAY begins on e.g 1-JAN-12. Thus while linking task B to A, B will automatically begin on 2-JAN-12. How do i make B dependant on A and yet both start on the same day ? Please advise. Regards, Noob Continue reading...

IE9 roadmap?
by Guest hipswich- 0 replies
Will there be any new updates for IE 9 considering IE10 is out? Is there a place where I can find the update history of IE9? The build 9.0.8112.16421 was released 2011-03-14. Does this mean there there has been no updates in the past year or so? The reason I am asking this is that I downgraded IE from 9 to 8 because 9 causes BSOD frequently, but I still want to try IE9 to see if the problem is fixed when a new update is released. Any tip will be greatly appreciated. Hong Continue reading...

moviemaker...is it really this bad??
by Guest 31322- 0 replies
Hey, I am new to Moviemaker in my XP Media Center world. Circa 2005. Every, Single TIME I try to use it, it crashes within 5 minutes of trying to work with photos. I am not even using video. So far, just one song, and several photos. I tried to add some written titles, but that crashed it even worse. Why make a program that doesn't work???!!!!!! Seriously? I have 2T of hard drive. 6-core processor, brand new motherboard, and 8G of DDR3 ram....and Moviemaker...so far, appears to be useless. If it is just garbage, please tell me, and I will consider buying a real video editing program written by real, committed techs. My time is valuable too. Continue readin…

I am having issues getting the OEM drivers to install on a Windows 7 Professional 32-bit OS during sysprep. Only the generic drivers install suring sysprep, but if I manually search for the drivers in the C:\drivers path, the correct drivers install. I am using the unattend.xml file and pointing directly to it in my sysprep call. (sysprep -generalize -oobe -unattend:c:\Windows\Panther\Unattend.xm. lI have a path for the drivers as c:\drivers. The drivers range from Dell to HP in the subdirectories of that folder. I am using Symantec Ghost for my imaging solution. I have the drivers portion of the unattend.xml here: c:\drivers Any help wi…

Can I install Windows 7 on a machine with Windows XP using a Windows 7 upgrade CD?
by Guest leonardevens-1- 0 replies
I have a machine running Windows XP. I want to install Windos 7 on it, but I don't need to upgrade the existing installation. The instructions on the back of a Windows 7 upgrade disk say that it is meant to upgrade Windows Vista. It then adds that if the mcahine has Windows XP on it, I must instead save all user files. programs, etc., and then do a clean installation of Windows 7. After that I can restore the files I saved. (I don't happen to want to do that.) I interpret this to mean that I can use the upgrade disk to do a fresh installation of Windows 7 on the machine given that there is a preexisting version of Windows, namely Windows XP. So I don't need a…

by Guest ullapalmér- 0 replies

I got a phonecall by someone saying he represented Microsoft support... something and they offered me to cleanse my PC from very dangerous virus that they had found on mine and other customers´computers. They would also sell MS Essentials (which I did not have before) the price being 290 EUR for 3 years. Now when I read on your sight here that I can have it for free I feel very much afraid I have been cheated by people trying to sell copies of your software or/and even themselves being hackers? I actually had some problems some time before this telephone call. Of course I had other software for protection - which I was told was no good (Norton). The man who contacted me …
