Hi Guys I have been testing a rollout of windows 7 and have succcesfully managed to roll out 100 Machines (i had a mak key with a 100 limit). Each of these machines were activated with a MAK key which left them all activated no problem. I appplied some updates to some of the machines that were in my test area and i am now receiving a error message indicating to me that the mak key has reached its limit and that these machines are no longer activated. My understanding of the MAK system was that once a client was activated with a MAK it subtracted 1 from your overall allowed count and that machine would never need to reactivate (unless a major hardware change etc) and on…

If I build a Windows 7 reference computer, run sysprep, and capture an image of the computer, are any problems introduced if I was to then apply the image to a computer, make some changes (install programs, patches, etc), run sysprep, and capture an image of the computer again? I know it is technically possible to run sysprep on a computer numerous times. It says in Microsoft Press text books that it can be done. I was once warned never to run sysprep on a Windows client OS more than once, because 'weird stuff happens' with the build. OUTLOOK 2010 ADDRESS BOOK MISSING. When I go to the find box in outlook 2010 and click on Address Book tab, There are NO address books listed. I then right click on the desired contact folder, select properties and then on Address Book. But the checkbox for using this folder in my address book tab is grayed out and can't be checked. I have tried deleting the mail account and reinstalling to no avail. My mail is a hotmail account. This a new install and the issue doesnot exist on another user on this machine. Is there anyway to lock down USB ports on XP so that only approved (encrypted) pen drives can be used to obtain data. For example if user A has 1) a company approved encrypted USB thumb drive, and also 2) a personal non encrypted USB thumb drive, if they plugin 1) it allows them to save data to this drive, however if they plugin 2) it wont let them save data to it. Hello, I am trying to setup a KMS server to activate a number of Windows 7 N Professional Systems. Hi all We have some problems with our new Windows 7 Clients and their proxy auto-detection (wpad) We are using only DNS for finding the wpad.dat file, the option in DHCP is not configured. So we installed about 20 new Notebooks with Windows 7 64bit. Same Hardware, same OS, same configuration. Some of them never had problems with IE or Firefox to connect to the internet using the proxy. Others have sometimes problem and there are some clients how never could connect. These clients download the wpad file but it seems like they dont use it... With GPOs we disabled the caching of Auto-Proxy scripts and the option "Make proxy settings per machine (rather than per-user)"…

Today I went to belk's website, logged in and clicked view statement. After I clicked that another internet explorer box showed up on screen. In the box it started loading the statement. Later it stopped loading the statement. So it never did show the statement. A bar at the top of the screen it shows belk's website, date, then internet explorer optimized. Under that bar, another bar with a security lock was in box. I went to see if I could see statements from other companys. I was able to view other company's statements or internet explorer would load other company's statements. I wonder why internet explorer will not work when I try to view just a belk's statement. C…

Is there any chance that MSE will be updated to allow different schedules for the quick and full scans? These two scans serve different purposes, and need to be run on different schedules, the quick scan more often than the full. As it is, if I schedule a quick scan to run daily, the full scan is also set to run daily - not what I want. The lack of this ability means that I have to run scans manually, and therefore at times when I'd prefer not to have to deal with doing them. If I could set different schedules for the different scans, I could schedule them at times when I'm not using the computer. Finally, is there any chance for improving the speed of a full scan? I fi…
