Wouldn't boot as it said it had lost operating system. I have the Windows XP disc and key from my last computer that was replaced by this one when it's CPU died a couple of months ago. But the replacement computer has a completely different key code on the side of it. I reloaded in booting in to set up with the disc I had, but neither codes work...not the one that came with the disc or the one that was originally on the computer. It seems, every day, there is an update for Security Essentials, at least for definitions. However, the updates do not download and install automatically. How do I configure it to do that? So my Kin2m screen started to no longer work, 7 months after warranty. This happened over the course of 24 hours- the backlit begin to fade when the keypad was open, then it was permanently not backlit, and then only at certain spots would the screen display anything, then it just wouldn't display anything. I went to Verizon and they said contact Microsoft, and since it is less than 12 months old they said it was under warranty. So i guess i just want to get my phone replaced, so i can stop using my grandma's crummy old phone. I recently upgraded my Windows Vista Sp2 machine to Windows 7. Under Vista, I was able to connect to my printers via the Windows print server we have. Since upgrading, when I try to select any printer, the installation fails and I get this message. "Windows cannot connect to the printer, Operation failed with error error 0x0000000d." I have tried a lot of the company printers on the server (inlcuding ones I know have buit in Windows 7 drivers) and always get the same message. Just tried to download the preview of Windows 8. The compatibility test revealed that Microsoft Security Essentials would not work. Ironic that a Microsoft product as popular and useful as this was not considered. So what does Microsoft offer instead? Or anyone else offer instead?
