I dsownloaded a PC Cleaner site to see if I had a virus because I couldn't open Facebook videos because they said I needed an Adobi update. I was able to eventually update and view the videos, but every time I turn on the machine I get a pop up for PC Cleaners saying I have 1700 or more areas that need cleaning and it will cost $50. Two weeks ago, after getting help from MS , during which SP3 was installed via remote access, had a successful upgrade. Yay! Now we get the "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting, This copy of Windows did not pass genuine Windows validation." message at the screen's bottom right corner, and a black background instead of my usual wallpaper. Our software is real, we've never had this issue before. And I have to guess that the SP3 from the windows tech was genuine as well. :) When I try to go through the troubleshooting steps in the provided link, it just takes me to a "Upgrade to Windows 7" page. I have a laptop Dell Inspiron M5030 and did something wrong. I tried to make a bootable flash but instead of disk 1 i cleaned disk 0 and my disk drive D disappeared. I managed to return it but I couldn't add or delete files from it. Then I recorded windows 7 on a DVD and shut it down. (The computer was really slow I think it didn't shut down and I unplugged it.) I have MSE and I have two different user accounts on the computer. One account works just fine, the other won't run 'real time protection". error code: 0x800705b4 It will scan and everything else, but not run real time, and only on one account and not the other. Also last week I had some malware, i got rid of it, but my internet has been running really slow since, and sometimes it comes up with a connection error (there isn't one) and i have to reload the page to get it to open up. I have an HP Pavillion Slimline computer. It came with Vista and various HP "enhancements. I mainly find them an annoyance and I seldom use them. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 using a package provided by HP which included two disks, one an HP assistant and the other a Windows 7 upgrade disk. The upgrade seemed to succeed except that I am having trouble updating Visual Studio compoenents. To what extent do I really need those HP "enhancements now that I have Windows 7 installed? Hi All, We have over 50 Dell Vostro desktops. I installed Win 7 Pro on one of these and after installing office, roxio, vpn client and few other basic softwares, I started the sysprep (I terminated the windows media player network service that seems to have a conflict with sysprep). I am using Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows XP. Every 12-15mins I am getting a Trojan:Win32/Sirefef.AC being detected. MSE says it has detected and cleaned the computer by removing it. But it keeps coming back. The result is that my browser keeps being re-directed. I have also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner which has not detected anything. What do I have to do to get rid of this?
