My MSE has started behaving irregularly for the last 2-3 days. Now it says real-time protection is turned off. I checked the setting and found it is on. When I click "turn on" on the home page, it says it cannot be turned on because the timeout period has expired. What does that mean? I think something serious is going on in my PC now. by Guest Mikeal483769- 0 replies

I didn't notice the AMD patch requirement prior to downloading service pack 3. I have an XP dual processor model M7640n computer and it constantly freezes and I have to restart to get it to work. I'm guessing that because I didn't load the patch that power is not being distributed and one processor loads up and freezes. Can I download the patch and reinstall service pack 3? NTFS Sector Size Unsupported
by Guest Fredrik.Coulter- 0 replies
This is a strange one. But here goes. I'm attempting to replace a 500 Gig hard drive with a 1 T hard drive. My plan of action was to use Paragon Hard Disk Manager to copy the entire drive. However, it refuses to do so because the sector sizes aren't the same on the old and new drive. Fine, I'll partition the big drive into smaller sectors, then reform one of them with the same sector size as the original drive. The original C: drive is 465.7GB, divided into several small partitions and one large C: partition, 451GB, using NTFS 3.01, a sector size of 512 Bytes and 8 Sectors per cluster. When I attempt to format a partition on the new drive of less than 465GB in size…

Windows 7 System Reserved Partition (100mb) Active, not C:\ drive
by Guest Mil0sDad- 0 replies
Hello, I recently did a full install of windows 7 and I can't reboot windows. It boots from no-power fine, but reboot just hangs (seems like it is powered down but fan stays on). If i look in disk manager I have: - System Reserved partition, 100mb (System, Active, Primary) - c:\ 93 gb (Boot, Page File, Crash dump, Primary) I have been reading various posts out there and it seems like i need to do a couple of things here: 1) make my c: drive the Active drive and 2) boot using a recovery disk (or similar) and copy my boot files from System Restore to C: I know my way around a little but am unsure here as to what i need to do exactly. I would rather no…
