I configured my Windows Firewall to reject all programs except the ones I allow. This works fine for browsers like Forefox. However in case of Internet Explorer 9, I was unable to get internet access even though I set a Allow rule for iexplore.exe. My windows Vista has been infected by the Pceu virus. The computer is locked and it is not possible to get past the desktop on start up. The scam pceu page showed up initially but no longer shows. On start up windows goes to the desk top and after clicking on a program icon it starts to open programs but then stops completely after 2-3 seconds leaving several partially open windows on the screen. I have run MS security essentials scan (full scan) and the Windows malicious software removal tool scan while the computer is in safe mode, several times. Trojan Downloader...... This little terror is giving me fits! This morning I noticed that Norton had somehow gotten on my computer. I only run Microsoft Esstentials, I also have a CCleaner. Was told that I only need this one as security as if Two or more anti-virus they comflict and don't work as effectively. Internet Explorer 9 installed on my computer, normally I can take it off (as it is not compatible with my e-mails etc), but I cannot take it off, I have tried 'uninstall update' but it isn't on the list, I have tried an earlier restore point, doesn't work. I have windows security essentials and in the action taken section it hasnt removed the WinNT/Sinda.gen!A it found in a scan from my computer instead it says allowed not deleted, so how do i now get rid of it as it says its a severe rated risk. Hi, Im running Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I've setup backup, it backs up all my data and system image daily on a different 2TB Hard Disk. Now the main Hard Disk (1TB) has been partitioned into 200GB and 800GB. (C: drive being 200GB). Lately I've been noticing that my C: drive could be filling up. Now, can someone please tell me how to do the following things, strictly using Windows 7 backup and restore function: 1) I wanna remove the partition on Main Disk (1TB) and instead of having my C: drive on a 200GB partition, I'll rather transfer my whole system on un-partitioned 1TB Main Disk. Hi All, I'm trying to have a firewall to block unwanted material of the internet. Currently, i'm testing in my workstation(win xp sp3) so that i can apply it on my server (small business server 2011). Tried to enable the IE (8) content advisor settings, so created supervisor password, checked the rating system irca3, rating level (strict - none). Created a blacklist of the websites to never allow. now, when i everything is done restarted the system. and typed www.google.com.au - i get a violation from content advisor saying that the website is not rated. only when i went back to always allow www.google.com.au it worked. After installing the DVD X Player Pro Trial installer accidentally - I found my browser to misbehave occasionally. I am checking if there is any website which has blacklisting of known malware apps. also - provide service to scan an msi package for malware? Misbehaviors were of the kind 1. Browser will not visit to a valid URL. Disconnecting and connecting the broadband wireless connection will restore it. 2. Browsing slowing down.
