I work for a public library. My public computers need to autologon to start our PC Reservation client. I used adm files in Windows XP which set the registry keys in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. It worked great in XP, but after rolling our Windows 7, I'm having issues. I've tried this method, as well as setting the registry keys manually. I've tried using the "control userpasswords2" account tool, as well as the Autologon program from Sysinternals. No matter which method I use, windows keeps resetting the value of the AutoAdminLogon registry key to 0 instead of 1, thus disabling auto logon. No matter what I do, it works for a few boots and t…

A friend of mine has an acer 60 GB without any protection since 2006. He had a Norton 2006 but not installed. I installed it but we were told it would be functionnel for 90 days. I suggested to install instead MSE. Both antivirus applications were working. I just noticed that the updating for Norton 6 was frustrating. So I brought a copy of Norton 360 (I am allowed to install it on three laptops) to help clean the computer from the overload of viruses. Hi all, I am facing very strange issue. I am working on a application where it has interaction with hardware. When I put my system on sleep mode and when I resume it suddenly it is getting restart (not always). I want to find which component is causing for restart. Hi, I have the following request from a Customer. They would like to deploy a custom powerpoint template which is the first thing that opens when they open Microsoft Powerpoint 2010. In addition have the option to create a Blank default template in Microsoft Powerpoint 2010. 1. I have managed to successfully accomplish the first part by renaming the Custom Powerpoint template to Blank.potx. Then copying the file to C:\user\appdatadir\Microsoft\Templates using Group Policy Peferences. 2. I use to get a window when I put a DVD or CD in my computer but now the Auto Play window won't come up. How do I install the files again or did microsoft updates make my computer like that and deleted this file? When I turn on my Dell Vostro 1015 laptop, here is what happens: 1. Dell icon and loading message (which is normal) 2. Black screen and "Windows is loading files" (never happened before) 3. Then the Microsoft Corporation loading bar stays on screen for some minutes 4. Screen with blue background, green leaf and a white bird appears. And it stays on, no matter how long i wait. Hello, As is have a virus that comes with a screen from the moment my pc starts, so i can't do anything. I have been told to use Windows Defender offline to remove it. As is followed the instructions , i have now a bootable usb of windows offline defender, but everytime i try to boot from usb , all goes well , but i can't do a scan because 'Windows defender Offline requires up-to-date virus and spyware definitions. You'll need to install the latest definition updates before scanning your pc. Hi there MYousufAli told me to post here, i read a lot of post here and google for this problem, but didn´t get a solution. via WSUS we rolled out the IE9 for all 2008 R2 Servers in our environment. Now we had some trouble with Outlook Today View and some other applications. If i do an uninstall of IE9 i can´t roll back to the former version. Checked updates today (22nd) at 06.17 am and got 1.123.62.0. This update was issued yesterday (21st) at 08.40 am.
