There is some virus or something on my computer that is changing my home pages to this website, I've reset the homepages but it just changes them back after a certain amount of time. I've tried various virus scanners such as mcfee corporate, avg, emu, spybot. If chrome is open when the virus tries to modify the homepage preference file this error pops up: "Exception EFcreate error in module SDWinSec.exe at 0011495. Cannot create file ...\chrome\userdata\default\preferences" any suggestions? Continue reading...

I forgot the exact name, but I know what exact website it came from (ask me to list it if requested.) As soon as I dowloaded this thing, Microsoft Security Essentials removed a password stealer. But then, a day later, when I performed a scan, it detected the same thing again. What should I do? Continue reading...

Please help as I had a firewall intrusion and my laptop was compromised. On the 7th of March 2012, I noticed on my HP Pavillion Dv7 31111ea Win 7 64bit Home Edition, with Kasperspy running, (and one USB error on my PC that I can not find the answer to driver wise, yet my USB devices work), that something strange happened. I opened up an excel word document (Word 2007) that acted like a shared file, and asked me if I wanted to open up as a read only or notify the user. I was alone in the house with only my laptop, so I chose read only of course. I then went straight to the router, wired up to it, and looked at the system security settings I was on WPA plus notice…

I run Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (English) (Student Select) when I try to copy any formatted text or tables within the same or different Word documents I will always loose the formatting. This is also true if I try to copy formats or formatted tables within Excel or from Excel to Word, see example screenshot: When I have a look at my paste options via 'Alt', 'e', 's' or 'Paste special' it only lets me choose between "Unformatted Text" or "Unformatted Unicode Text", see screenshot: Here is what I tried already: - In the advance options menu all options are on "keep formatting" - I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire office suit but keep havin…

We recently begun updating IE8 to IE9 on all our Windows 7 computers through SCCM. We install it with no users logged in and the following options :/quiet /norestart /update-no. The installation goes through and sccm reports it as successful. This also works great when users with existing profiles logs in to a computer, but not when a user logs in for the first time. When a user logs in and creates a new profile, there is no Internet Explorer. You cant find it anywhere in all programs, but you do see it in program and features under windows features. If we log in with a admin account, the shortcut for IE is back and it works when the user logs in again. We also pu IE9 in …

Starting yesterday, 3/26/12, my clients are having trouble with Javascript. I have narrowed down what is going on, but not why. Everytime they open Internet Explorer 8, the security settings for the Internet Zone reset and disable scripting. This doesn't seem to happen to Internet Explorer 9 users. But I still have 75% of my users on XP SP3, so IE 9 is not a solution. I have tried making a GPO and forcing custom settings on them, but it doesn't seem to be solving the problem, or I did it wrong. Because I run WSUS internally, and I know when updates are scheduled, I know that Sunday, we installed the most recent Microsoft Patches. Was there any patch recently …
