I've been experimenting with image deployment for a little while now. I've successfully gotten the process to work on physical machines, but cannot seem to get it to work in a virtual machine. I can successfully enter audit mode and configure the machine, but when I generalize it and reboot, it goes back into audit mode as if I had never run the sysprep /generalize command. Here's the command I'm using: sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:unattend.xml This process works on a physical machine, but will not work on a virtual machine. Thanks for any help any one can give. Continue reading...

I have 3 other partitions on the hard drive Windows 7 is on, and although in 'Disk Management' it shows all four partitions, if I right click on any of the others, it'll only give me the option to 'Delete Volume...' which I don't want to do. I would like to give them drive letters so I can access them in My Computer. The only problem might be that the first partition is ext3, but all the others are NTFS, and were accessible in XP previously. Anything I can download/edit to fix this? Is anymore information needed? Thanks, Reuben Continue reading...

Hi, I have a question about how many licenses are needed to be compliant when installing client computers with RIS/WDS. As this document states: http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/d/4/3d42bdc2-6725-4b29-b75a-a5b04179958b/reimaging.docx - With OEM license I don't have re-imaging rights. - I can use the VL media to re-image a client computer that comes with OEM license. - I can re-image with VL media only computer with same os type and language (e.g.: with a XP Pro Italian VL media I can re-image just XP Pro Italian OEM client computers). - For computers that come with OEM license and I re-image with VL media I have to call OEM support and I don't have rights to…

Hello, i badly need help..! My computer is blocked by a ransomware infection. As it seems, the only solution is to create a USB stick with System Sweeper (now: Windows Defender Offline). I downloaded the file from Microsoft, created the stick, and it works.. but not on my infected pc. The reason is that in my pc I am using a hardware RAID controller (HighPoint RocketRAID 2310) and Windows Defender Offline can't access my system disk when it boots from the USB stick. My question is: how can I add the driver for my RocketRAID controller to the Windows Defender Offline install on my USB stick, so that it can access and scan my system volume? I have the following…

Hello....Not sure where to post this question. Please move it as necessary. Thanks. We have a base network (192.168.1.*) which is connected to the Internet and has several wired PC's and one server (192.168.1.9). It also has a wireless modem/router attached on address 192.168.1.13 (static). That wireless modem/router has its own network (192.168.2.*) which serves our wireless devices and is a subnet off of the base network. Normal activites from the wireless network are working fine including access to PC's, shares and other resources on the base network. Normal activities on the base network are also working fine. Access from the base network to devices on the wir…
