I ran a system analyzer and among other things, it came up with over 1000 registry errors. Is it possible that this is the source of my painfully slow performance? I've run disk defrag, virus scan, removed any unneeded programs at start up (that I can find). I am running XP Media Center Version 2002 SP 3. do I need a registry cleaner? suggestions? Frequently when I start to load windows it goes through to the user choice and when clicking on main user no bottom tool bar is present nor any icons. If I turn off my computer and retry it goes through the loading completely satisfactorily. What can I do to correct this? View this thread

I formated my computer and when it came back up I am still having problems installing software. I am running Win Vista home edition. I updated to SP2. How can I check to see if I am still missing something. I did all the updates already. I can install my printer, MS office 2003 gives me a 2349 error and yesterday I was using my F drive for pictures and it said something about formating it. When I click on Windows Update, I get an error message, it says the program is not running, restart your computer. I did that several times and it didnt work. I also went to the website and click Fix it and that didnt work either. View this thread

I have tried several times (and re-booted as advised) but I keep getting this message. Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running and you may need to restart computer. Done that twice now and looked down the list of troubleshooting. Found one that looked like the right one and it said problems with Windows Update had been found and mended buyt I still can't get them. Another problem is with Norton. I have some jpeg of pictures that i took out of a folder and moved to the desktop. Now i can not put them back in the folder without getting the message they can not be moved because the file is either corrupted or unreadable with error code 0x80070570 showing. i can not delete them either.
