I have a client that keeps all office document files on a local server organized in subfolders. They want some designated folders on the server to be synchronized with SharePoint automatically. When they modify documents in this designated folder, they don't want to have to remember to initiate the synchronization process. Is there anyway to set this up using SharePoint workspaces or Groove workspaces? The key thing is that they want to keep all files on the local server as they do not want to lose Internet connection to SharePoint Online and not be able to access the files. All my Windows 7 desktop items have disappeared. They are present in C:usersmyusernamedesktop. If I create a new icon by right-clicking on the desktop, it appears in that folder, but NOT on the desktop. I tried running the Microsoft Fixit tool - no fault found!!!! All I can find on the internet relates to some DVD writing software I do not have or shortcuts to server programs, etc None of my shortcut icons will appear, but gadgets are OK. Any ideas? Hi. I "lost" my WHS : the connector does not work anymore and when I do an IPscan (192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255) I can see my network computers and nothing else especially not at 192.168.1.201 which is normally the fixed local IP adress of my WHS. I noticed as well that the orange led of the WHS ethernet connection is flashing slowly to me this points out to a problem with the WHS NIC. Unfortunately I cant check it as my server is a Fujitsu Scaleo with no monitor and no possibility to connect it to a monitor . Can someone give me a clue as to how to overcome this problem ? I have a 500 G drive in S for storage where I have pix and other files to save space on the C drive I have checked properties and have about 100G in files The system tells me I have about 37G left I should have more like 350 G or so Any suggestions? Thanks View the thread

After the last week's Microsoft's Windows Update - it had literally wiped out my 2010 x86 & 64 Microsoft 2010 Office Pro Plus? I am at my wit's end and rolling back does NOT restore all the files - for it had literally wiped out everything in Microsoft Office! Likewise with my MS Office 2007 Ultimate x86 & 64 - same issues was able to restore the 2007 in x86 but that is just about it. What gives? Had these for years and I have documents I need to print and send / fax ASAP and I have the keys to both of the full versions. Now the Action Center is notifying that Security Essentials is turned off and must be manually turned on using the Security Essentials program. I just got a phone call telling me that he was from Microsoft detected that I had a virus on my computer. Asked if I was sitting at my computer. I told him NO and that I did not believe him and hung up. Does Microsoft do such a thing? I have never heard of anyone being called by a so called Microsoft Tech. Good day. My Windows explorer keep on crashing after using the " right click " button on any files. ANY files. So anyone can help me how to fix this ? really don't know what to do. Hard drive crashed so had to reinstall whs 2003. Got it installed but now I can't install computers to whs. From the remote install disk it says looking for server which it finds, then download software but then it can't find the software and stops. This is how I installed all 5 remotes before but now no go on any of the computers. I will add that I can ping the server from the remote and ping the remote from the server. Hi, I was researching on the difference between a quick scan and a full scan and to my knowledge what I understand is that a quick scan will scan a hard drive in all areas that malware is known to store itself where a full scan will scan all areas of the hard drive, so it is recommended to just run a quick scan. My question is if today or tomorrow someone creates a virus which stores itself on the hard drive where no other malware stores itself, wouldn't a quick scan not detect it and a full scan will? So then wouldn't it be best to do a full scan ? View this thread
