My laptop stopped recognising the existense of this DVD burner and no matter what drivers I download nothing changes. Could that be a change in versions of software with recent Windows 7 updates? Thanks! View the thread

Updating a computer (running Windows XP/SP3) which had not been used for a while, most (of many) fixes installed successfully., but KB2675157 does not (repeatedly). Running Windows Update, it downloads ok, then goes into 'Installing' for a time, before coming back installation failed. Subsequently the update shows as 'ready for installation' at system shutdown, and then after booting. Looking at windowsupdate.log I see "Install completed with 0x8007f00d" and later "WU client failed installing updates with error code 0x8024000b". Antivirus was AVG, now uninstalled and replaced by Norton Internet Security. Any ideas on how to get the fix to install? View t…

Hello, Question: If I upgrade from Windows7 premium 64 bit to Windows7 professional 64 bit, will this delete all my photos and games etc.? (likeupgrading from XP to windows7 does?) Also I had purchased the Windows profesional, which has both 32 + 64 bit a few years ago, I had installed the 32 bit in another computer that is no longer, dead and gone. question: Can I still use the key from the professional disc? Only came with one (1) key. I do not want to do any thing wrong let alone erase all of what little I do have on this computer. One of the games is like 5-6 hours to update. I have an older desktop running Windows XP Home. I had two updates that failed: KB2675157 and KB2656352. Since that failure, windows will start up but very slowly. After I select the user I want to log on as, personal preferences will not load. The entire system hangs and the only way to restart is to hold the power button down. I need to ensure that my Internet Explorer is 128 bit so I can conduct transactions at my bank's website. I do not know how to find out if I my version of Internet Explorer is 128 bit, and if it is not 128 bit, I do not know how to install 128 bit. I am using a Toshiba Laptop with Winows 7, and Office Home and Student 2007 installed. I am in the process of changing to a new bank. I have window vista home premium. I have never had problem burning multiple pictures to a cd-r before. It used to take minutes, now I load the pictures and push burn and it starts off saying it will take minutes and then it just builds up to days. I rebooted, cleared temporary files, burned music just to see if it was burner that was problem but burned wave files without any problem. I am at a lose as to what problem is. I had even burned a dvd recently of photos, just doesn't want to burn phots any more View this thread

I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista that keeps crashing after just booting in to Windows. I had been scanning for malware and the computer had froze, so after 3.5 hours I just gave it a hard shut down. Now I'm getting the error in the subject line.
