AM TRYING TO UNSTALL "M S E" BECAUSE THE DIRECTIONS I RECEIVE AM UNABLE TO FOLLOW DUE TO THE CONFGUATION OF PROGRAMS MENU. I HIT "RUN" AND I DON'T RECEIVE A SPACE FOR TYPING. Since I had no sound I download an audio driver from a Microsoft website which fixed the problem. However, after I turned the computer off, there was no audio after rebooting it the next day. Day 2 the same things happened as I updated the audio driver again and audio worked as long as the computer remained on. But after reboot it didn't ' work again. I think it was a Sigma Tel audio drive that I downloaded from your site. Then it disappears on reboot. View this thread

I am running Windows XP Professional. About a week ago, system start up became very slow, about 10 minutes or so. Once started everything runs fine and shut down takes the usual amount of time. I ran a defrag on the hard drive and a disk clean, but the slow start up has not improved. I noticed that I have not received any updates in a while even though I have automatic updates turned on. I went to the update web site and tried to check for updates and got an error 0x80070424. I then tried to run MS Fixit which said it found an error, but could not correct it. I'm not sure what to do from here, so any help would be appreciated. View this thread

My HP Pavillion Desktop computer recently crashed. I attempted to recover it and it stated Missing NTLDR, I contacted HP and they informed me that Since I purchased my computer form Costco they do not support it. Brand new computer. I have Thunderbird pinned but it just isn't on the all programs list and never was. Makes me wonder if any other programs are not listed. If they are not pinned I could quickly forget I even have them. Basically, how can I add Thunderbird to the all programs list? View the thread

I run Microsoft Security Essentials daily because no matter how often I run it, it always says my computer is potentially unprotected. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the Microsoft website. I also have IOBIT Advanced SystemCare Pro and IOBIT Malware Fighter v1.4. Should my computer require a daily and sometimes 2 and 3 times a day cleaning? This happens even on days when I am at work all day and the computer is not on. Could some malware be in my computer that is not being detected by any of the programs I have for protection. I went to run my scan for the week and it ran fine. Then, I went to run any updates and I hit Update and it searches, then downloads, then installes and just about when it's finished installing, the screen kind of blinks real quick and I lose my connection. My computer is potentially unsafe now and I am afraid to go on to the internet for anything. I've never had it do this before. HELP ?? View this thread

Hello! I have Windows 7, 32bit and all has been running well until recently. I keep getting the Error 800B0100 stating windows update has failed. The security Update for windows (KB2658846) I have tried the System Update Readiness Tool, also the Automatic Troubleshoot. I am using the Avast Antivirus. Please can you help? I received a call from Microsoft Dallas, stating my computer was about to crash and they wanted access to my computer to resolve the issue. They sounded foreign (spoke broken english) and connection was like a cell phone about to drop the call. I basically told them due to identify theft and rampant fraud I wouldn't give them access. The first individual put on his supervisor who was just as foreign sounding as the first man. What should I do? View this thread

I am using Windows XP and Advanced System Care Free - a program to maintain the computer. For several weeks I have not been able to paste after copying or cutting anything on any document or anyting typed on email, etc. The "PASTE" is always greyed out. Also "CNRL V" does not work.
