The use of SaaS applications has become widespread in businesses of all sizes. With more SaaS apps in use, there are more potential targets for attackers. They frequently exploit centralized user authentication systems targeting unaware users with phishing attacks. Attack techniques are getting more sophisticated and frequent exploits of poorly designed of SaaS applications are on the rise. In this blog, we'll demonstrate how SOC teams can benefit from App governance and its integration with Advanced Huntin…

Database migrations are challenging... Migrating SQL Server databases and workloads to the cloud is an involved project. It is not all about just moving the data. There is also setting up the identities and access rights, repointing the apps and updating DNS (Domain Name System) servers, routing the traffic, testing latency and failover behavior, standing up the correct security framework, among other things. Put simply—it’s challenging. Yet, there is a way to significantly de-risk a big part of moving SQL Server to Azure SQL Managed Instance, by doing most of the configuration and verification work upfront and turning the switch-over into a simple update …

Overview Before you stream logs in real-time, enable the log type that you want. Any information written to the console output or files ending in .txt, .log, or .htm that are stored in the /home/LogFiles directory (D:\home\LogFiles) is streamed by App Service. Note: Some types of logging buffer write to the log file, which can result in out of order events in the stream. For example, an application log entry that occurs when a user visits a page may be displayed in the stream before the corresponding HTTP log entry for the page request. In Azure portal To stream logs in the Azure portal, navigate to your app and select Log Stream. Troubleshootin…

Azure SQL Database provides Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to safeguard against offline threats by encrypting the data at rest. By using a Customer-Managed Key (CMK), TDE can further enhance data protection by enabling the use of a key stored in a customer owned and managed Azure Key Vault as the TDE Protector on the server. When TDE with CMK is set at the server level, all encrypted databases associated with the server inherit the same level of protection. With the introduction of database level CMK, the TDE protector can be set at the individual database level, protected by a different key that is managed by the customer. Usage of RPS in our sovereign (not WW) clouds has also seen dramatic drop, and we will be turning off RPS for sovereign cloud customers this month.
