Introduction In cloud security domain, we often need to monitor entities – such as users, IP addresses, applications, or access tokens – and their patterns of behavior. We might want to detect ‘novelties’ – unexpected and previously unseen values of these entities - which can indicate security issues. Some examples of such scenarios are: IP address belonging to a previously unseen ASN range accesses cloud storage. Previously unseen application logs to SQL database. A new user logs to an administration portal. Novelty might indicate a security incident – in which case an alert should be sent to resource owner or security officer for investigation. However, …

Utilizing the Code+Test feature in the portal provides a straightforward method for testing, where you can simply click the "Run" button. If your function is configured to be accessible from the public network, testing on your local PC is a viable option. However, in the scenario where the private endpoint is enabled within your function app, attempting to test may result in a 403 error accompanied by an error message. Error message: You must have direct network access in order to run your function. Your app may be restricted with Private Endpoints, Access Restriction…

This week, I have been working on a support case where our client experienced a 5-second delay in database connectivity. They were measuring this using StopWatch. As they informed me, they were launching a series of processes, 50-100 concurrent processes to be precise. I would like to share the experience gained in understanding the reasons behind this 5-second delay. The first step is to try to understand how these concurrent processes are launched by adding some logs to the calls. Following the code, we observe the following behavior: Our customer using Connection Timeout in the connectionString the value 5 seconds. Following the call to the func…
