The blog is inclined towards troubleshooting clientothererrors reflecting in the metrics. It is a step-by-step process to understand what these errors signify and potential reasons. This will also help in analyzing if these are legitimate ones and also deciding on the action plan ahead. ClientOtherError usually means expected client-side errors which are not fatal errors. These operations have been completed successfully and therefore don't affect other metrics, such as availability. Some examples of operations that execute successfully but that can result in unsuccessful HTTP status codes include: ResourceNotFound (Not Found 404), for example, from a GET reque…

Hi folks - welcome to the second post in the holiday '23 series. Today's post is about a capability that came to preview long ago but recently surprised much of the world and moved to General Availability (GA). This allows you to sign-in to a Windows PC itself via the familiar web sign in form/pop-up dialog box: With this sign-in method, you certainly can use your password but passwords are so ‘yesterday’ … Let’s go passwordless and use MS Authenticator - which can be a form of ‘multi-factor’ sign in. IMPORTANT: This sign in method is called ‘web sign in’ – if there is no ‘web,’ then there is no sign in (i.e. offlin…

If you are a student or an entrepreneurial developer who wants to build modern data applications using Azure Cosmos DB, you might be wondering how to write NoSQL queries to access your data. NoSQL queries are different from SQL queries in that they use a document-based structure instead of a relational schema. This can make them more flexible and scalable, but also more challenging to learn and write. That’s why Microsoft has introduced Copilot for Azure Cosmos DB, an AI companion that simplifies how you work with Azure Cosmos DB. Copilot is an amazing AI-powered capability that can create Azure Cosmos DB NoSQL queries based on your natural language questions about…

Symptoms - Security scans show Request Smuggling vulnerability on IIS server. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attack. The vulnerability exists due to the way that HTTP proxies (front-end) and web servers (back-end) that do not strictly adhere to RFC standards handle sequences of HTTP requests received from multiple sources. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to a targeted IIS Server, perform HTTP request smuggling attack and modify responses or retrieve information from another user's HTTP session. Resolution: Enable the request smuggling filter on your web server by using the Reg…
